Early Access Review
I'm not very versed in the survivor/roguelike genre. However I'm quite in love with the original DRG. I didn't expect to like it very much while trying it out, however this game is extremely fun, and some how is more tense than DRG at times.

Definitely worth a try if you like DRG and want more from it, or if you like survivor type games.

I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but it did provide me with a fun couple of hours.

Helldivers 2 is an amazing four player shooter, the concept of an actively fought galactical war, where everyone is doing their part but are not necessarily dropped on a big map with 100 players is pure gold. The game is very similar to Deep Rock Galactic, one of my favorite games ever made, you are dropped onto planets and do several main and side objectives while you fight enemies.

This game is not only amazing gameplay wise, but it feels like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tech demo, in a good way. The explosions, craters left by them, the sound design... Everything feels like a blockbuster movie as you fight a galactic war against bugs and robots. I think that's what this game does best, it knows how to make you feel cool. You truly feel invested in fighting a galactic war, doing your part in it while feeling cool in each individual operation.

The micro transactional part of the game is reasonable too. You can get the premium battle pass by playing, and it doesn't need an incredible grind. Not to mention the fact that the free battle pass is infinitely more vast than the premium one. There is a rotational store too which you need super credits for. However as I mentioned, it is definitely possible to earn these credits on your own without an insane grind.

Helldivers 2 will definitely become better and better as the development of it continues and we get updates. This should honestly be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blaring alarm to any and all triple a studios. We've been getting so many double a and indie games that break the industry standards. Not only game wise but also corporate greed wise.

This game is a testimony on how Rockstar Games is THE best game developer of our times. From top to bottom it's a phenomenal experience that everyone should experience. If you are one of the people that never got spoiled, or got to experience this game, I'd say go in blind. It took me four saves to ever get into this game, and when I did it was a blast. The only regret I have about it is that I didn't play it earlier, or didn't explore the game enough.

Deep Rock Galactic is one of the most well rounded FPS games out there. Though the genre itself is not huge (4P PvE FPS) I think DRG is easily the one game that got closest to L4D2 standards and even surpassed them. Showing the true amazing potential of this category. This game has near perfect gameplay and chemistry between players, it also has amazing developers that crafted a game for the players first, and passion second. Rather than most FPS games developed these days, made for profit first.

I think it's fair to start with the gameplay first. You are one of the four dwarves with unique load-outs and skills, you are dropped in a procedurally generated cave each time, your missions vary from mining out a specific ore, salvaging mini mules, or operating a machine such as defending the refinery or escorting a drilldozer. You are not alone in these caves, or rather this shattered scorched mineral rich planet. Bugs of various shape and form chase you down, climbing out of the soil. I will admit, unless you're playing a harder difficulty the types of bugs don't matter that much. But I think the true strength of the game lays in the chemistry between the four dwarf classes. Each one has unique abilities that help you throughout the game tremendously.

Now nothing is really stopping you from playing the same class, but playing a well rounded team with all four of the dwarves proves to be the most fun and functional way to play the game. The Scout's ability to use his grappling hook to reach places quickly, the Gunner's strong DPS, shield and zip-line, the Driller's ability to quickly drill away soil, and its above average fighting skills, and the Engineer's various gadgets such as the turret, and his platforms. All of these things compliment the team-play perfectly. The Scout is very useful during high stress clutch moments, with the ability to evade bugs quickly to get nitra (resupply currency) for his team. He is also useful to get to places most teammates can't get quickly to. The Driller's ability to dig through soil comes to use when drilling to the Drop Pod, or other objectives. You can even establish underground bunkers to survive bug swarms. The Gunner's ability is simple, yet powerful. He is the big tank, he shoots the big bullets and shreds through bugs, his shield is important when reviving downed teammates, or when you are in a pickle. His zip-line is also another useful movement gadget, especially if you are protecting a target. The Engineer's passive damage, and his platform gun pair well with the scouts movement.

While during lower difficulties you are simply growing accustomed to the game, when you start playing higher difficulties, bugs start to become a real problem. There is a lot of variants, big boys that spit out acid or freeze you, flying or walking spitters, things that can grab you and throw you around, or drop you from heights. There is also missions where you need to fight bosses, or robots. There is a lot of mission types, and they can be replayed many times, I won't mention each one but my favorites are definitely refinery and escort missions. Each involve protecting a target, and surviving waves of bugs coming at you. The refinery is especially fun on hard difficulties when you are scrambling to stay alive, preserve your ammo, and fixing the refinery itself. There is also other missions that are each very fun, but obviously some are better than others.

Another notable thing is that throughout the missions you go to, there is a chance you will come across other random missions, spicing up the game even more. There is also deep dives which you unlock as you level up, but in order to talk about those we first need to talk about perks and leveling up. Each mission you finish earns you in game cash, and XP. With XP you can unlock various perks and use up to five of them (three being passive and five being active) on your missions. You can also buy upgrades for your guns and gear, buy hundreds of different accessories (instead of paying real money for them) etc. In order to unlock different types of guns, and stations within the ship you need to pick up assignments. Which award you handsomely.

Now Deep Dives are just like regular missions, but deeper and more difficult. Especially Elite Deep Dives. Where you need to finish three missions consecutively. You need to ration your ammo, survive various hazards, and depend on each other. Until you are done with each mission and can return home. These missions earn you matrix cores and overlocks which you can use to even further upgrade your loadout. Though this part is usually controversial due to how grindy it can be.

I think that is all for the gameplay stuff I wanted to mention, it's time to quickly run through various stuff I enjoy about the game. It's well optimized, I never had frame issues with this game on the highest settings. The voice overs with mission control and between the dwarves can be hilarious. The amount of times me and my friends just kept pointing at a mushroom cuz of the funny voice lines is insane. Or the WE'RE RICH! The OST is phenomenal too, and the lobby... Good lord, I just love the lobby. Drink beer with your friends, kick barrels, piss off mission control. Dance on the dance floor, block your friends in their bedrooms. Try to clip out of the ship, find jetboots and fly to Hoxxes using them. Play the funny boot game and try to sabotage your friends, or just jump around.

This game is an absolute masterpiece of passion and love. No microtransactions, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥ policies, just pure old fun. This is what a game is supposed to be, so... ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!

This is most likely the last FIFA (literally) I will ever land my hands on for a long ass time. I don't play any of the multiplayer related money grabs, I only like playing the player career occasionally. But I'm honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick and tired of it broken in every damn game. It needs such little polishing to be made fun too, like they could 100% just build it up once and then never look back, but EA is such a money grab that it *never* even strives to do that. What broke the cammels back for me this year was the fact that I got injured for 2 weeks, I returned and suddenly the coach took me from my attacking midfielder position to RB???? Like what the sh1t? Homie I'm the number one scorer in the league, you lost several matches after I had to be benched. In what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world would you put me in RB????? Besides whats the damn point of a football player career if I can't even play the position I WANT. Don't even get me started on how insignificant this game makes you feel. I was an 18 year old midfielder breaking the premier league scoring world record and towards the end of the season the only mention of the record came after Halland broke it. Despite one of my teammates, and my own player breaking it way before him. At least on fifa 22 and 21 if i'm not mistaken your records and effort was 'recognized' by the game. After leading an impressive season on a low tier team, winning them the league, and excelling to 85 overall at 19 years old, the only major team that wanted me was Bayern, and I was bought undervalued?? Like wtf man, I got 3-4 offers from mid-tier teams and only Bayern being the major club??? BRO WHOS GONNA GET THE OFFERS THEN??? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, SCORE GOALS WITH MY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NUTSACK?? HOW DO I IMPRESS MAJOR TEAMS, HOW ELSE?? What about the annoying ass difficulty setting? There is literally no middle, not at all. I'm not a legendary player, so I play world class. I play world class and the guys literally let themselves get tackled when they are 1-1 with the keeper. or they constantly get caught to offside, or never even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reach our keeper. but the moment I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ switch to legendary, suddenly I'm getting rawdogged every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ match. Every player is playing like a god, i switch back, suddenly we are 5-0ing every team we come across. whats the point?? oh but yeah you can play wallstreet simulator by investing, who gives a sh*t fix the game first dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I gave this game another chance years later with a friend, I expected all the support in the past decade, and the steady income received from players would've fixed this game. No, it still looks and feels like a unity asset flip. There is better looking, and playing games on Roblox. It's truly baffling that a game can feel so clunky, and look so ♥♥♥♥ after ten entire years of development. Plus they haven't even left Alpha, and just celebrated their 10th year in early access... Not only that, but the devs will almost do anything in their power to change up things to serve the players worse, instead of finishing their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. What else is there to say

I played this game back in 2021, though I do not know the state of the game now. I do remember that the PvP of the game just felt way too wack. Getting into 1 on 1 combat meant pretty much instant death, and I just couldn't get into it.

Fun, cheap, runner game. Nothing much to expect from it, but I'm not a connoisseur of runner games or anything though.
