If you liked Paleo Pines' style (especially the dinosaurs!) but was turned off by having to play as an ugly little homunculus you're gonna love this game. This game answers the question of "Why can't I play as one of the animals in Animal Crossing?" AND you get to be a dinosaur!!

Main downsides for me is the tutorial overstays its welcome a bit, and the camera is kind of all over the place, but I'm hoping that'll be fixed on future updates :D

Quirky game full of personality, the dialogue and story is just wonderfully quirky and amusing.

Unfortunately it does need a LOT of balancing changes, right now it's just way too easy and uninvolved, my character can defeat almost any enemy in a single hit, including boss battles, and the only way she gets hit is if she misses.

I feel like both the enemies and my character should deal less damage overall so that fights have some stakes to them, with my hero's health slowly being chipped as they go through their quest.

The hero care sections could also use some work, right now there is no reason not to simply buy a ton of coffee and other stat healing items and completely forego letting them sleep, bath, use the bathroom, etc. Money is just too abundant, especially on chapter 2. I finished like 5 missions and money became competely obsolete.

In summary, this game has a lot of potential, its skeleton is solid as it is, it's a fun little game to leave open while doing other tasks much like an actual tamagotchi. But I really hope it gets some extra TLC from the devs to help it achieve its full potential

This game is so deeply honest, and so obviously coming from a place of passion, it's impossible not to shed a tear by the time it's over.

It is also really accessible in a way very few games manage to be, if all you want is a fun short puzzle adventure, you can get that, but once you get the end credits you realize that there's so much more to find, and you'll find A LOT more. I've seen it explained that getting the first ending is just the tutorial, and things only get crazier from there.

This is genuinely one of the best games I've ever played.

Early Access Review
This game shipped in early access in better shape than most games nowadays on full release...

That said, I'm loving the story so far! The character designs and artwork remain as stellar as ever! I'm LOVING the vibe too, Movement seems less fluid compared to Hades 1, but it could be a quirk of it being in early access (and also intended to be played on a controller, the moment I made the switch I noticed that running, for instance, became a lot less slippery)

Amazing game, and I don't need a Sony account to play it!

This game might have just been the most magical transcendental thing I've ever experienced, so it's only fair that I open with the biggest issue I have with it:

It is abundantly clear that this game was made by someone who doesn't have much game dev experience. I think Hapi (your player character) controls phenomenally (with some minor gripes, mostly the in how the vapor form works, and crash avoidance being really janky) but the races often don't compliment her movements at all and feel very janky to try to go through. The boss battles really mess with my depth perception due to the shiny graphics and sheer amount of objects flying towards me. Further, the maps are very poorly optimized, with one particularly large stage bringing my PC to its knees for what I assume to be poor render optimization. A friend of mine described it as a game made as pretext to release an album, and I'm inclined to agree.

But man, WHAT a soundtrack. For all its issues I still think this game is more than the sum of its parts. Because the gameplay, flawed as it is, still works as an instrument to deliver a breathtaking musical experience, and a story that is equal parts funny, heartwrenching, relatable, and beautiful. The themes of identity growing up on the early internet moved me in a way that very few games ever managed to do, and Hapi as a protagonist is both adorable and so relatable, while maintaining that distinctively catlike disposition that drives a lot of the humor -- both intentional and otherwise -- from playing the game.

I've followed this game ever since I was shown the GLHF film, which sparked a massive brainrot between me and a friend of mine, trying to figure out what it all meant, and then I got the game right as part B had released, and the payoff with part C was... magical, there's no other way to describe this game's ending and how it made me feel. All of its rough edges and bumps ceased to matter in face of the single most thoughtful expression of love of music, of self-expression, of humanity, and of early 2000s internet culture.

It is far from a smooth experience gameplay wise, but I cannot stop shouting into the winds for people to get this game and experience it

God what a beautiful game. I was immediately interested when a friend showed me the very beginning of the game, and the soundtrack, graphics, and the sound design just enchanted me. That last one especially is something this game excels at, The sound of Sybil's hooves as you walk was enough to keep me exploring for hours, even while I felt like I was wandering around making no progress.

That last point is something I think a lot of players will struggle with, cuz the game is *very* open ended, and as of right now there's no map to help get situated, but once I managed to accumulate a handful of mobility options the game just opened up.

Some advice for new players is to just walk around, and if you at any point wonder "Am I supposed to be here or did I sequence break?" chances are you're doing fine. The game expects you to do some complicated technical platforming, but the controls stay simple enough to afford you a lot of options without breaking your brain. If you can get somewhere, then you're supposed to be there, simple as.

Overall a beautiful game, some of the most fun platforming I've done in YEARS. There's a few things I think could be improved, namely some UI elements that don't stick with the game's blurry low-res aesthetic, but that doesn't detract from the true masterpiece that is this game

If I had a nickel for every time an indie game allowed me to go fishing on the waters where Charon the ferryman of souls transported the dead I would have two nickels which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice

It's a great game to feel like you're a little creature against the world. Animations are super super fluid

The game can feel very unfair at times with how creatures will just block your path and how even basic things such as scavenger trading and basic movement tech is super cryptic and not told to you unless you check the wiki (and thus risk getting spoiled). It isn't for everyone for sure, but if you take the game for what it is, you will have a great time

Also all those seemingly impassable obstacles are actually doable if you just know what to do (For instance, if you know how to trick lizards and even kill them)
