If you liked Borderlands 2 you'll probably like this; assuming you don't care about story that is. Some systems in the game feel very similar to a skill tree in a way, but put through a Hades boon sort of system.

I'm glad there are plenty of characters, lowers the odds two people want to play the same thing.
I think it'd be cool if they allowed > 4 players, or if was in a mod or something. I don't know how the netcode handles for that but it'd be nice to fit more people in.

I recommend people change the frequency different traps pop up because gameplay will start to have pitfalls if you only get boxes and crossbows over and over.

Resurrect man is my favorite.

Better than Spelunky 1, the separate screens via online make this game one of my favorites.

Gearbox purchased the IP to Risk of Rain and fully acquired RoR2 in 2022. Their first DLC was made in tandem with Hopoo Games, whereas the second DLC was not. In the same update that pushed the second DLC (Seekers of the Storm), they also pushed many code changes that attempted to allow for crossplay. This code change brought many bugs and is the reason most reviews around this time (Aug 30, 2024) are negative. Several of these bugs are not small, and should not have been missed (some are so obvious and egregious it seems more likely they were noticed and outright ignored).

I had played this game extensively and then didn't touch it for a long time. Came back to it when I saw they had dropped new DLC. I haven't purchased the DLC but the game is genuinely in a worse state than what I played it in a couple years ago.

I wish the bugs (super speed turret man, gun merging, etc.) weren't patched out though, they added to the replayability imho.

My favorites were Bidiots and Bombcorp.

Big fan of the diversity of games, ease of use, and accessibility that this game has. My only criticism would be that I wish you could skip the intros even sooner.
