Note: Hundreds of my hours have come from being AFK in my ship or clan dojo waiting on trades. I'd say about 200 give or take. during those downtimes while I'm waiting on something I'd be playing with my 3DS or my phone or just watching stuff.

100% free to play IF you take your time farming relics and opening them and hoping you get something good to sell on Warframe Market. Getting relics as a newer player isn't too hard. but you have to do mission('s) for them, hope you get the right one. then have to have the node where relic fissures are present in order to open them.

Also a lot of primed frames and weapons are vaulted. So you'll be paying around 100 Plat for each frame perhaps more.

Frames take 3 days to craft. Weapons take 24 hours to craft. You can spend plat to instant complete these but that's incredibly not worth it for legitmate Free to Play users.

I down right disliked this game in 2014 but they've made some massive changes to movement system. Biggest problem is this game is not new player friendly, bookmark the games wiki, you'll need it. As well as a friend('s) who can answer some general questions you'll certainly have.

Edit: 2019 Been MR Capped for about a year. have placed on leaderboard in tennobaum christmas season gifting board in 2018. I've made so much plat (for free, but huge time sink!) I was giving it away and trolling streamers with it like former lootbox like mod packs or just cleaning drones for their ships.

In short. I have done everything Warframe has to offer. no I don't have "everything". But anything that gives mastery rank XP I make a point to "Master" and I am so secure in plat I just buy slots myself. I turned gifting to me off because I can get everything myself now.

The issue here in 2019 and back in 2018 is DE's releasing very little replay valve content. The best we get is arbitrations and yet another open world map that ultimately leads no where. Yeah there's two giant mech spiders we can kill over and over but you don't truly need anything they drop. the story of Fortuna just kinda ends and DE themselves have no idea when the 3rd spider will be up to fight.

But worry not. If you are a new player Warframe has a MASSIVE ammount of content for you to grind trough and you WILL grind hard for it. As opposed to other games Warframe get's a lot easier when you progress trough it. The hardest levels are in the first half of the game simply because you'll be undergeared and normal enemies will pose a threat to you. however you can take care of this by simply playing on public and hope you meet a "farmer" who will just carry you regardless if you want it or not.

I do this all the time. I'd likely be a Ember frame with speed mods who will nuke enemies to death before you can even shoot them. all because I want it over with ASAP so I can get a certain prime part relic. or open them.

so yeah as a new player, go nuts you'll enjoy warframes grind or you won't. But I beg of you, please use the wiki, ask questions to the community if you need help on where to go for what, use youtube for Build guides for weapons and frames. If you go hard on Warframe as I have, you'll run out of content within a year and you'll quickly become bored.

I'd give this game a mixed review if I could simply because "endgame" truly doesn't exist. There's no true sustainable content in warframe yet just doing the same bite sized missions over and over. I do think everyone who likes "looter shooters" should give this game a fair chance. But it's hard to recommend if DE keeps deciding to add nothing sustaining to the game.

Pretty good resourcemagment game, normally I'm not into these but the writing is good and there's at least one damn funny alien character. Downside right now is collecting the resources is tidious having to send out one or multiple units just to keep a constant supply of metal, fuel, dark matter, and new citzens going. Information overload was a slight problem for me at first too, from managing and construting the starbase rooms, building new ships, commanding and figuring out how to obtain new officers, etc.

Highly recommend for people who like X-com, FTL and sid myers civilzation.

Had fun at first most of the playtime is idling and it's a downright "skinner box" game. Likely offers great insight to what people with compulisive gambling might feel like. Wasting your time, money and engery on a fruitless endenvor. Gets really old after a week.

1. Lots of DLC. wait for sales of 75%+ off unless it's new-ish DLC from the last month or two.
2. it's really not "pay to win". you can win without buying any DLC it's just easier with the DLC.
3. overkill might of learned their lessons on everything the community got angry over.
4. If you start playing the game now, you will never have everything unlocked in terms of masks and even a paint for said masks.
5. weapon skins are estinally useless.

I'm a very casual fan of this game series, im far from a expert. however, I've been having fun with this game. It's just drive from point a to point B, try not to speed and don't hit anything.

my biggest complaint about the game is the city's aren't that big. I personally live in Stockton California and it's tiny in this game. Like maybe 20000% smaller in the game then in reality. It also takes over 30 mins to get from Stockton to Sacramento, in this game it only takes about one or two tops. the screney is pretty, you can add your own music or listen to internet radio stations.

The game isn't really that complex, but i'm only doing single missions. I haven't bought any trucks, hired other drivers, or got that deep into the game yet. but from what I've seen of the serires the core is always just to play, drive around and complete deliveries.

The first day has a really big map, It's scanvenger hunt but with goats. At least half of them require you to do stuff like hack power boxes, fight a fire, to get to said goats. It's kinda confusing if not overwhelming really.

The worst part about it is. You start off facing a crowd of civs but there are gansters or cops in said crowd, and the cops have freaking Bronco guns! they pack a punch. also the goats can and will kick you to take like 15% damage.

day 2 is a lot like CS:GO bank. Send goats via skyhook cage then after that drive a car to escape like it's Car Shop. Only with a bridge you need to turn/activate to escape. It's a pretty long heist. The payout is decent on overkill something like 10-12 Million.

UPDATE: Jan 15, 2016. today I got a new GPU a R9 380 with 4GB of memeory. I ran the game again after getting it installed and making sure im on the latest AMD card driver.

@ 1080 on mostly all high, medium settings. i'm getting 25-35 fps. in the middle of a lake...

:(

Stay away, horribly shoddy port.
--------------------------------------------------------

Launch issues galore. Read the fourms to see the varying issues. Bottom line, poor preformance on decent or even high end rigs.

I really do think all these issues *will* be fixed but no point in buying it right now. Will change this review when/as needed. I bought my copy outside of steam so it ain't going anywhere.

-----------------------------------

December 14th. Still no patch for preformance issues (both AMD and Nvidia have it.)

haven't seen a AMD driver for JC3 yet. just a hotfix to Crimson 1.0 or whatever.

i have to run this game at like 1280x1024 or whatever on lowest settings on my 1080p monitor. getting 35-60 fps and it's not exploisions making the frame rate drop or at least not fully them.

I run Mad Max @ 1080p at damn near max settings and get a very soild, 50-60 fps frame rate in that game.

Specs are:
3570k
7870 HD 2GB ram
8GB DDR3 1600 mhz ram

just Cause 3 uses somewhere 4.65 GB's of my ram alone on the menu screen. Seriously? I've seen people complain about a memeory leak but i haven't seemingly dealt with it, unless it's a painfully slow leak.
