" I have a plan , I just need time" , as the famous Tahiti Mango Magnet Dutch Van Der Linde once said to Aurthur Morgan, this game indeed has a plan and you indeed need to sink time into it to enjoy.

On a serious note, it's r* ,its Red Dead Redmeption, so you already expect the story, the cast and the locales to be to be top notch. And R* delivers on all fronts . The characters are well written, their arcs makes sense and their missions are fun to do. The locales are top notch and the graphics in the environmental department is way way over what GTA V did. However character models, their hair and animal fur still looks kinda similar to GTA V and that is a big last gen feeling part of the presentation ( GTA V was originally ps3 and xbox 360 game ) . Dont get me wrong the game looks and feels great and next gen even but character models upclose really do look dated. Other than that and minor bugs no complains on any front .

Performance was a issue and like many Youtubers have found out, RDR2 on PC at High pushes many settings way above what the console run at. Many of the console settings are so low that they dont even have equivalent settings on PC . All I will say is if you are running an Nvidia card and are using Vsync use DX 12 as its frame pacing is far better than VULKAN even tho VULKAN provides more FPS. Also follow Digital Foundary and Hardware Unboxed's optimisation guide to get solid fps in this game . Also most of these optimization guides make no mention of Tree Tessalation as it was added months after launch , turn that off if you are running anything below a 2080 Super at 1080p it tanks frames by upto 40%.

Overall a solid game and an excellent prequel to the events of Red Dead Redemption, however non sale prices are a bit high so wait for a sale and buy it . It is worth it
