Although they have some problems at the moment in Legion, it is quite gud due to the massive possibilities to create a build by yourself.

Even though the skilltree may look overwhelming in the beginning, it narrows down to some pretty simple choices.

Edit: Atm i have like 5.5k hours in this game. In Steam its only like 4.4k. I began to use the standalone client, hoping that it would fix my performance issues. With this edit, i have changed my favourable review to a negative one.

This game had always (at least since Breach league) problems regarding performance, but nowadays it takes the cake. Not possible to load a new map without my PC freezing, frames drop massively in each endgame map. Memory leak is still real. Some people may complain about the unnecessary bloat of content in this game, but imo it is not that bad if you're looking for a timesink. People nowadays forget that nobody forces them to rush through content. Besides that, the zoomster classes are a major problem as well. Playing slower or "non-meta" builds puts you massively in a "disadvantage" (only in trade leagues).

Slow kill speed=slow item or currency drops and therefore you as a player who doesn't want to play the same skill or class every time, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. The skill tree looks complicated for a newbie, but broken down it only gives a miniscule amount of skill options. Even though GGG promotes skill diversity, it just is not there.
Some may argue play "solo self found" -> Invest quadruple the time for less impact/gains. No argument there.

On top of all that, trading is pure garbage in this game. They wrote a manifesto 2 or 3 years ago, which stated why they did not want to implement a market place or an auction house. Sadly their reasons were already totally outdated even at the time, with their biggest argument being that they cannot take it out again when implemented, if they did not like the system. They are scared to move forward, because maintaining the status quo is much more profitable, due to stockholm syndrome. Furthermore, they say that bots get the upper hand in an auction house, which is currently the deal. People are adding bots to their friend list, because they know that they guarantee a trade. It is just stupid and tedious, while not adding anything to the so-called social experience and interactions.

In its current state i would not recommend anyone to play this game.

Nonetheless it is currently the best ARPG, because there is no competition. Grim Dawn caters to a different audience and Diablo 3 is hot garbage with no items. GGG needs proper competition to counter the current stagnation of their game.

Chinese counterpart of PoE is quite superior to the global edition of the game, because Tencent caters to their Chinese audience, while GGG likes to continue milking the sheeple.

Edit: And still i am at 6k+ hours now. (Switched to standalone client for a while to test, if performance is better when steam is not active, which is not the case).

Performance is still horrid and GGG should be ashamed to even try to market this hot piece of garbage as a proper product. They're lucky that no other ARPG is on the market right now.
