After buying the Arma 3 Jets DLC I am at quite a loss on what exactly Bohemia was thinking when they made it. This isn't to say the features added are bad, but in my opinion incomplete at best and lazy at worst. So here are the main issues with this DLC and why it's really not worth the $12.99 CAD price tag.

1st: They added a dynamic load out system (DLS) for the jets but guess what you can't use it unless you're in Zeus or through the editor nullifying most of this features usefulness. Like really Bohemia, you couldn't take a little bit of time and implement a DLS that players can access by entering a hanger or sitting near a ammunition truck. The fact that mods such as FIR Air Systems and ACE BOTH have this feature added and those are two FREE mods.

2nd: The static ships that have extremely limited use. I am talking about the CVN and the DDG that they added which are basically useless static objects. Aside from the catapult and recovery system there is nothing all that interesting about the CVN, it has no functioning elevators, little interior aside from some rooms in the control tower and doesn't allow you to repair or rearm your jet. The DDG has a full interior one working hanger for helicopters but this once again amounts to nothing because it's an indestructible static object that works as a glorified weapons platform. Both the CVN and DDG could have been so much more but Bohemia decided to be lazy instead.

Solid game that loses it's fear factor after a couple of hours, but still manages to get me back into it every few months for another comp stomp. I find myself always wanting more out of the game however due to how easy it is to play (142 hours will do that) and how redundant alot of the items (gimmicks) the devs have added that basically aren't worth getting. At this moment you really only need 5 items that are easy enough to acquire in the first hour of the game to become the overlord of the island and make the cannibals your metaphorical ♥♥♥♥♥.

Those 5 items are as follows:

Modern Axe- Best axe in the game. Super easy to find. Cuts down trees in 9 hits. Can savage cannibals with nasty swings.

Dynamite- If you are using it to kill cannibals, you're doing it wrong. Best tree cutting device in the game. Use for maximum industrialization. Makes the forest your ♥♥♥♥♥. Clear cut the entire area and create a massive fort in no time. Throw inside unsuspecting noob's compound in multiplayer to show them that not being an industrialized nomad is stupid. OR! Blow primitive noob's mind by showing them the joys of clear cutting with dynanite and make them build you a fortress (<<< This actually happened) Respawns with every reload of the game. Found in the same cave as the modern axe.

Bow and Arrow- Sprinkle your enemies heads with arrows from your palisade. Kill rabbits like a pro. Use it until you make Legolas look like a third rate bowman. Add fire for those who want pre roasted cannibal.

Spear- Found around the map yet no cannibals use it. Easiest weapon to acquire (2 sticks, no problem). Roleplay as a Zulu in reverse and yell "Look at me! I am the colonizer now!" then throw your spear like a boss and kill a deer that's 30ft away. Add a molotov cocktail and set sad build a base noobs on fire for fun.

Katana- 0 fighting required to acquire use run and jump hack (not actually a hack) to avoid mutant. Sprinkle your enemy with arrows before cutting their heads off honorably. Roleplay as a Samurai by killing "Hard" (aka gimmick) cannibals by charging at them and yelling "Banzai". Spam LMB and laugh as your stamina bar barely goes down.

Repair Tool- Beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of your damaged wooden walls with a stone tied to a stick and watch as it magically gets repaired. Infinite uses. Laugh as you repair your walls faster than the cannibals can break them.

Basically it's a good that has the potential to become a great one if the Dev's made the cannibals a credible threat. (And no, bumping their health and damage is not what I am looking for.)

- Added more fauna like Bears, Wolves, Moose, Bucks etc.. that would interact with the world.

- More cannibal types who use actual weapons.

- A decent PVP mode where you can't see everyone on the map and instead have to create a tribe.

Early Access Review
Little to no content has been added for the last 2 years the game has been out. Optimization is god awful, and the FPS mode while neat simply doesn't belong in an RTS such as this. Updates come out few and far between, and when they do, the things they add don't actually fix the games problems, and no devs, making more expansive FPS controls is not fixing your games problems.

The devs continually add things that are broken on release, for example, the FPS recoil was trash because for some reason even mounted machine guns had massive amounts of recoil making it impossible to use them. This was fixed over a month after the devs released their recoil to their FPS mode, they pretty much have no idea what they're doing with this game now and keep adding unfinished features that break the game. This is an overall trend that has been plauging the game since release, Digital Mind Soft refuses to listen to critism and as a result their game is now dead.

While most people here are complaining about F2P, I really don't think it's a big deal, they simply wanted to try and save the game by making it free to play as a way to inflate player counts. This worked for a solid 2 months with the game reaching a peak of 600+ players per day, but it has now dropped to little over 100 because guess what? If you your games trash no one is going to play it F2P or not. This was exacerbated by the fact that the F2P version didn't even have multiplayer, which was a conscious decision by the devs to lure people to buy the full game, well filthy prank Instinct, no one wants to buy this game or apparently play it because of how piss poor it is.

Call to Arms should be a lesson to all indie devs, if you don't listen to your community or have any self reflection on your decisions, your game is going to be garabage, and unlike the AAA games who have loads of money to take a loss, you can't. Call to Arms is dead, the devs have ran out of money, ideas and options, this will be another game stuck in early access for the foreseeable future, and in the chance that it goes to a full release it will still be garbage and no one will play it because the premise and game mechanics suck for an RTS.

On Some Ending Notes:

If you enjoy this game go ahead and keep enjoying it, you can become part of the niche community of 100 players who will play this game and becomes masters of Call to Arms.

The only hope I have left is that some dope mods will come out soon and free me from the base game.

"Knowing Digital Mind Soft, I can almost guarantee that Origins is just going to be MOW:AS2 ported to MOW, minimal effort for maximum result, plain and simple."
- HABS 2016-08-23 1:18am

"Sell the same game 4 times, make 4 times the profit"
- Digital Mind Soft

"We've updated the models and textures in Men of War: Origins. Oh wait, no we didn't we just ported the models that we updated in AS2 to Origins."
- Digital Mind Soft

"Why haven't I been updated to HD DMS? WHY!!!???"
- Hetzer

"You sold this game full price yet you sell me in a DLC like some kind of piece of meat, shame on you!"
- AI Bots

"I can't believe you would forbade the Imperial Japanese Empire from gaining HD textures for our glourious tanks, made of nippon steel, folded 1000 times, sharp as katana!"
- Japan

"Comrade, have no fear, DMS is not ripping you guys off. Here, have Men of War Origins for $20.00, it will make it all better"
- 1c Company

If you can't already tell this game was a money grab, Origins is a money grab and these two development teams are scum bags. I won't buy another one of their products and you shouldn't either.

What's next? Men of War: Assault Squad Origins, finally featuring fully HD textures for all units, buy it today for only $20.00 or buy the Premium Membership for an extra $10 to support out company, remember it's better to be a member. (Insert random new additions here that don't actually add anything important)

Oh yeah, and the devs are super passive aggressive, they ban people who call them out on their half assing ways.

I give this cancer a 4/10, at least it's Men of War, only buy it on sale.

*edit* Save your money for Gates of Hell, it's the MOW like game we want and need.

Totally worth the $12.00 I payed, and totally worth the $43.99 CND it costs normally because you pretty much get 6 games in one as the mods for this game are of such a high quality you could mistake them for straight up $15.00 DLC's, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they are good.

10/10 If you don't like the unit cap or want to change something, just go into galaxy forge or the game constants and do it your self.

Still haven't played the base game though...

Battle of Empire: 1914-1918 (BoE for short) is the latest GEM based game to come out. It is also unique because unlike previous Men of War like incarnations, BoE's setting is World War 1, a segment of history largely ignored my pretty much every video game genre. I had been waiting for a game like this for many years as I am facinated by WW1, so when BoE made it's debue on steam greenlight, I was all too pleased to upvote it. Unfortunately, when the game came to Steam, it was a huge disapointment for myself and other buyers of the game.

The only good thing that I can say about this game is the fact that it is based in WW1, and thats about it, the rest of it is mediocre to pure garbage. This was originally a mod for Men of War and still uses the old outdated GEM engine from 10 years ago with no apparent upgrades meaning it looks like trash. However, even with using the old GEM engine, this game still manages to feel like a mod that you have to pay for, it would have made more sense to make it a mod addon for Men of War then a stand alone game. (ie. Great War Mod for Company of Heroes) I would almost say comparing this to a mod is an insult to modders everywhere who can make a better product for free, than this dev team can with our money.

The models and textures very in quality, some being "okay" while others look like they are unfinished and came straight from the blender, it's actually pretty sad. The voice acting is just awful, period. Once again, mods have done better voice acting. The AI is still dumb as ♥♥♥♥ like other MoW titles with the added bonus of having to control them with the odd controls the original MoW had.

TL;DR: It's a reskin of MoW that has the quality of a mod, and the devs are greedy scum bags. (P.S its filled with bugs)

I give this thing a 2/10

Don't buy it full Price. Don't buy any of their "Flexible Purchases". Don't buy it on sale, even if its 2 cents because you can find a mod for free that serves the same purpose, for free.

This is for all intesive purposes the apex of the rebooted Fallout games, it combines the good of Fallout 3 whilst creating a way better story full of awesome characters and cool lore. (Even though it doesn't have the Chinese assault rifle)

TL:DR- Fallout New Vegas is... better then Fallout 4.

9/10 get mods to make it a 10/10
