Just like the base game, Cyberpunk 2077 major expansion, Phantom Liberty, is a stellar masterpiece. 12/10 experience.

First and foremost, I would like to thank CDPR for not giving up on this franchise. It has been an amazing 3-year journey to witness how this game has risen from the ashes like a phoenix through major and minor patches and extra contents, as well as anime adaptation from the Edgerunner series on Netflix. This game became from one of the worst game launch to the greatest comebacks ever in the gaming industry. Personally, Cyberpunk 2077 has always been 'a diamond in the rough' and a hidden masterpiece to me and to the Cyberpunk community. It's just in a matter of 'when' the public able to fully appreciates the hidden gem in this game and 'how' CDPR is going to make them realize it to its fullest potential as they promised.

Like the community, Cyberpunk 2077 has become the 'Labor of Love' category for me. It has been one of my safe havens since the pandemic, the worst, the bad and now the good times of my life. The characters, the enthralling story, the open world exploration, the world story lore, the music, the combat gameplay, and such for both the base game and now, this major expansion left me a mixture of emotions that few other games could provide with. It has remained my top favorite game, alongside with other game titles including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, Witcher, Red Dead Redemption, Elden Ring and many more.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is a major expansion that includes not just a spy-thriller story missions that keep you engrossed into the game, but it also includes extra side quests and gigs in this new standalone district called, Dogtown, governed by Kurt Hansen. This story isn't about V. It's a story of Solomon Reed and Songbird. A story between a mentor and a protegee - a loyal dog and a bird rebel, who both has hurt each other for their agendas; one in the name for his country and the other for her personal freedom. Both are wired and chained down by the one hand that controls all for her personal ambition, President Myers. And as V, you are to trust who you side with. Do you prefer to trust Reed or Songbird? Will you set the bird free, or follow the loyal dog says, and bring the bird back into her cage? Will you side with either of them because you are promised for the cure, or because you feel that you resonate your feelings and experiences with either of them more, or both? Or as V, will you prefer to just give up, not siding either of them, completely walk out from this whole fiasco and find another way to get the cure instead? And even if you get the cure, was it worth it? Was the price of sacrifice worth it in the end, in the name of survival?

Like the base game narrative story plot, Phantom Liberty makes you think twice about your moral decision. It allows you to consider your decision carefully for your V and to certain extent, reflects on your real life decision making, as well. There is no right or wrong as each story mission and quests have pros and cons, as well as its morally gray and focus strongly on what you as the player and your characterization of V suit best. The story expansion brings back to the big question that Dex has asked you at the start of Act 1 during the heist, "Quiet Life or Blaze of Glory?" This question summarizes the whole plot and world lore of Cyberpunk 2077 as well as the characters, including your V. How you choose depends reflectively on how you want V's personality and characteristics to be with the other characters.

Besides, the side gigs and quests are more in-depth in terms of the unexpected turns in the stories which is frankly, can be on par with CDPR's Witcher 3 side quests, and Baldur's Gate 3 as well. The overall length that I played including the main story missions (15 - 20 hours) and side quests (10 - 20 hours) is over 40 hours +, excluding my obsession with photo modes of my V and favorite characters, and the main base game which takes over 100+ hours for all story quests. The new vehicles, clothes, apartments, new romance contents, and above all, the new metro system in the recent 2.1 patch have all made this game more alive and immersive than before. There are hidden gems and easter eggs you could find in Cyberpunk 2077 inspired from other franchises including Death Stranding, Witcher 3, Blade Runner and so forth. With the latest patch, CPDR has added in vehicle combats, and open world gang wars that you could witness as your V could by on his or her daily life, depending on the choices you made both main and side quests, and a whole new ending called, the 'Tower', in this expansion, where V finally gets the cure and start a new life as 'the face in the crowd', but at the cost of everything.

Should you buy it now at its full price or wait for sale? I say, if you have to money to spend it, why not? I recommend both. Phantom Liberty deserves your time and money to dive into its in-depth spy thriller story. You won't regret it.

Get some tissue, though. It's gonna be one helluva ride for you all, chooms. :)
