This game is loads of fun. from the small amount i've played, i have seen and executed some very interesting plays that a concept like this can allow definitely worth a try if you're even remotely interested.

This game sets you on a variety of maps with an objective dedicated to that map. there are 7 operators to choose from and once you make your selection you have a 25 second time loop to complete your objective whatever that may be. In those 25 seconds, all of your actions are recorded. every shot, movement and equipment use will play out again for the other player while they play out themselves and whatever you just did they now have to deal with. this makes for some insane future thinking and strategies that are so gratifying to pull off. you are essentially playing the whole team.

The Good: -there is a kit for every situation you can think of and to defend against. good variety but also simple enough for you to retain the knowledge of each operator, almost acting like your hand of cards.
-the game makes actions of every operator easy to see for you to determine what play you should try for your turn
-gameplay feels fluid and nice, hard to spot any jank with the in-game models and animations (there are few exceptions)
-neat customizing and cosmetics you can unlock with no micro-transactions (but we know that may be subject to change)
-gear customizing that affect matches are restricted to guns ONLY. this sounds like a negative but keep in mind you have to unlock these for you to use in a game of what is essentially time loop chess. it is better to keep these things limited.
-finding matches are quick to find and last for quite a bit (more on this though) mainly due to the fact that you're only looking for one other dude.

The Bad: -game crashes more than i'd like. infrequent, but will still happen although i haven't had it crash on me during a match (yet)
-hitboxes can be...odd...more so the head hitboxes (unless you're on console) some operators have a very easy to hit head and others it feels like it's non-existent. this can be very bad for any match that comes down to a sniper play for the last round and this kind of uncertainty can make for some very frustrating "bad" plays.
-casual matchmaking is broken, ranked is the only thing working right now so this is bound to change
-this is usually seen on the turn based modes but starting off as the first one to play is a massive disadvantage. i've come to realize that anyone who starts second has the insight and the last play to make a stand/push an attack which can massively determine the outcome of the match.
-the 2v2 modes are pretty empty seeing as the turn based 1v1 is the game's bread and butter mode. queue times build up most of/all of the time

all in all these are small cons and some big pros. an amazing game for those who have no friends like me or who do have friends and want a battle of FPS wits

This game has become a husk of what it once was.

This game used to be one of the best tactical shooters of our modern era with massive destructibility that compliments with the gun play so well to the plethora of operators that bring their unique gadgets that allow for amazing attack or hold strats that give you the satisfying feeling of the massive brain plays you just did.

but as time went on and in good ol' ubisoft fashion, this game has fallen far from being the best.

there's problems that have persisted ever since the games launch. to name a few of the major ones: defender's advantage, client de-sync, inconsistent sound and, surprise surprise, cheaters. the most that has been done has helped a little bit, however it is merely a bandage instead of an actual fix (some of the first fixes: cheater ban waves via battleEye, shorter time a defender can be outside before being revealed and a sounds coming from openings like doors or broken walls rather than the source of the noise however I'll come back this one in particular)

the dev focus has been on a very unpopular direction of map "rework" and gun balancing, the content has been pulled to an excruciating crawl and new operators have been anything but unique rather, in some cases, very redundant.
the map reworks have barely been for the better and don't help with the issue of defenders advantage AT ALL. maybe it was just me but I loved the realistic buildings where, from a normal human POV, it makes sense to navigate or to blow up to your advantage. I'm not saying the old maps were better, some of them were very clearly bad and would be lopsided to one of the sides (usually to the defenders side) but these reworked map layouts are not fun, still defender sided and very much confusing even after learning most of the prime rotations, flanks and angles. It's supposed to be healthy for the competitive type but I don't see it.

Operators as of late haven't been the least bit interesting and, unfortunately, dipped into political strife. the large shift of focus from gadgets to gunplay has made operators chosen for the gun loadout and every match played very flavorless, linear and boring. every new one is always made with the same "stats" so none of them ever feel like they bring anything more to the table other than guns. some operators have been pushed so far back from being patched that I doubt that the devs even remember that they exist. the biggest offense would be the shield operators, my god, the shield operators have been rendered ultimately useless mostly of which it doesn't fit into their vision of what the gunplay should be. these solutions have made them detrimental rather than helpful. (they later on did a little "fix" but the damage is already done)

now the political part may be hit or miss but personally this game shouldn't have it. there are soon-to-be 2 operators total that have been nothing but toxic discourse for the community as a whole (if you know, you know). I don't care what the devs make as long as it's fun for the game and community overall but that means that the devs need to be in-tune with the community they have before making these decisions. these 2 operators are clear evidence that community consideration is completely out the window as this game's community is NOT gonna resonate well at all with these ops. i'd even say it's akin to CoD. it has done nothing but cause more and more strife, dividing a community which only creates more toxic players. even funnier is that ubisoft even made a statement before that they never plan to anything political in their games as that's how they work. well lookie here now, a hypocritical statement.

these are the major issues i've had with this game which is barely scratching the surface of the mountainous reasons and complaints i have (i'm a crybaby i know) this game is not and will not be as fun as it once was. to buy this game is gamble with the odds heavily against you because everything has been reshaped to BE against you.
