There are moments where Split Fiction really shines. The first and final chapters were amazing, and there were a few innovative moments in between. However, the remaining 75% of the game just dragged on, filled with puzzles that felt more like chores than actual fun. I understand the desire to put your best work at the beginning to hook the player, but nothing ever quite lived up to that opening chapter.

TL;DR: Cool game with some innovative ideas, but definitely not Game of the Year material, nor is it worth the current price tag.

Went into this expecting to hate Abby as that seemed to be the popular opinion. However I came to an understanding with her character and I believe she is written well. If anything, by the end of the story, Ellie is much worse of a person then Abby. Both are in the wrong regardless but I found it interesting that the majority of online opinions differ.
The ending itself wasn't bad either from a writing standpoint... It felt believable. My only real issue with the game is that I wish there were more infected sequences. Also the whole cult story-line is such an underwhelming trope that zombie media needs to stop.

Most likely a top contender for Game of the Year. Nearly every aspect of the game is refined to perfection, and it’s incredibly fun to play, with just the right amount of difficulty.

Most of the issues I typically have with turn-based games are resolved here.

First, there are 154 songs in the OST for a 30-hour game—I don’t even get the chance to burn out on a battle theme before a new one is introduced.

Second, the combat is ridiculously fun. When you lose to a boss, instead of feeling the need to leave and grind levels, your immediate thought is to keep retrying. That’s thanks to the parry/dodge system, which can take several attempts to master the timing of specific moves. Enemies hit hard, so getting good is essential.

Third, the presentation is perfect. The voice acting, cutscenes, and world design leave nothing to be desired. It reminds me of a mix of Elden Ring, Death Stranding, and Alice in Wonderland.

My brain isn't tiktok brainrot enough to handle all the BS happening at once on the screen. Art Direction and Sounds are great, but that's about it.

I'm starting a campaign to get the Nord Highlands nuked off the map.

Overall, it's a very immersive game that's pretty fun at times. However, I found that it got pretty stale after a while, and the game sort of lost its charm once I was no longer a weak scrub.
