Big fan, big fan

I expected a short April Fool's joke game, and I got a top 5 Sonic games game.

Fantastic game. The platforming was delightful, the dimension mechanic felt fun and unique, and it controlled really well. The bosses felt creative and interesting to fight because you didn't any offensive abilities, so you had to figure out how to interact with the boss rather than unload on them. It's not super long outside of plowing through the story there's still more to do and explore. Worth the $20 for what you get.
Game looks beautiful, and the music really sets the atmosphere. The world and story is set up well.

The main thing that I thought was overkill(but won't matter to some, and others may love, it's up to taste) was how much it autosaves. It autosaves almost every single obstacle so there is almost no punishment for dying to something, and on average you maybe lose a few seconds with just a couple parts putting you back further. Even some bosses had autosaves in middle of the fight. The platforming throughout and nearing the end can get a little difficult in a fair and rewarding way, but the autosaving makes it feel like you're playing through it with save states between every jump. It'd be awesome if they eventually released a higher difficulty mode that toned it down juuuuust a little on the autosaving.

Overall though I loved the experience. Would recommend.

We had a blast playing Haunt Chaser. They found an interesting way to make the 4v1 setup still feel like a horror game. There were times while I was looking for the next puzzle where I'd wander into an area and was just getting hit with supernatural experience after supernatural experience that set the mood of the map.

Playing the entity is fun as well but if you haven't played chaser at all or at least have an idea what type of goals the chasers have/know the general areas they're likely to be solving puzzles in then you may end up wandering without seeing anyone for a bit. Once you're even just a little familiar with what they're doing then the entity gameplay loop of planning where to go and hunting people down is really rewarding and fun.

Looking forward to seeing how it progresses and grows.

Filled a house with fireworks to celebrate the new year and accidentally blew up a gas station. 10/10

This game is the bomb-diggity.

Protip: Don't equip the safe ring without paying attention to its stats at the beginning. I was doing one damage until like level 10 because I didn't realize it ripped away your precious attack power. The bats took 3 hits to kill. BATS. After unequipping the ring and tossing into mount doom the game jumped to 10/10.
