Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

The good stuff

  • Gameplay is great
  • Audio-visual is excellent.
  • Level Design is great but sometimes frustrating.

And that's the end of good stuff.

The Bad and terrible stuff

  • Weak story.

  • ''Game as a Service''

  • The Mourningstar hub is awful. I would say useless for player interaction.

  • An in-game shop exists, but we can't obtain premium currency. They said we will be able to get the premium currency by playing.

  • ''No no no, it's not a lie. It's just no longer the truth.'' and ''This is not CoD'' type lines by the community manager.

  • Unshared crafting material, coins, and weekly missions.

  • RNG item shop.

  • Unfinished and expensive crafting. It's also RNG.

  • We can not select a mission we want with the difficulty we want.

  • There are also a lot of underperforming melee weapons. So when you want to experiment with a new build, the game punishes you.

  • There is a suspicion that Tencent is influencing game development. Not in a good way.

This doesn't fix any of the issues with item acquisition or crafting. Whatsoever. This just adds an additional randomized way to earn weapons, but overall the main issue remains:
- You still need to get the right max perk you want
- The right max blessing you want.
- The right distribution of stat weights.

How is it so difficult to understand that, this is not a fun system?

And I stand by that.

Conclusion

It's early access, I do not recommend it. Try it in 1 or 2 years.
