Vampire Survivors but with underpaid contractual blue collar workers. Is great.

Most of the negative reviews you'll see about this game are about english translations, quality of life features, and VA problems. Which are true problems and could be a turn off to good amount of people.

But everything else is awesome.

Story, Gameplay, Artstyle, and Characters are pretty spot on for a suikoden game in 2024.

My suggestions would be:
Play the game with its current faults. They aren't game breaking, just isn't refined enough to those who want the value for their money. If you're a long time suikoden fan, you'll love this even with all the problem it has. NEW FANS would probably be filtered off with its less than stellar English translation.

Finish the game, and then wait for a few updates (Specially the story updates later on this year).

Replay the game in new game+, which is already a staple to a lot of RPG series, specially JRPGs.

Great game with friends.

An even greater game for Couples.

And probably the best game when you're married and have a daughter.

Just got home from work.

I'll probably play a couple of quick games before I hit the hay. Too tired to do anything else.

Scratched my XCOM and Slay the Spire itch at the same time. Probably wont be itchy again for another year or so.

What's the difference between this series, The Legend of Heroes, and other JRPG series (Tales, Megami Tensei, Persona, etc)?

Not much actually...

but is has so much heart baked into its world that even if you find yourself not caring for its characters, which is basically impossible cause most of the characters are so adorably funny/quirky that you'll find yourself rooting for atleast one of them even if its the bad guys, you'll be so be so intrigued with its history that you'll find yourself wanting to play the rest of the series (atleast on the next few games, this first game doesn't provide much lore, but it'll still end with you wanting to know more, trust me).

When I started this, I was picking between the Tales Series, or Persona.

No regrets. 6 games out of 11+ games in, and I haven't been disappointed yet.

First game that I bought that I literally didn't know anything about before playing it, and i'm very much pleased.

A very satisfying 24-hours of laid back gaming. A great first roguelite to suggest to friends.

is great fun. I just wish I could survive like the title suggest.
