i am prob ably getting a new haredrive sometime soon anyway for my computer or some other plan to get back on my cs.

as you are probably aware, i am currently running the operating system of windows 2000 pro. well anyway, i have run into some kind of technical stumbling block possibly originating from the latest compatability update for steam and windows 2000 pro with 2000's service pack 4.

I ununstall steam and associated games that i have for it and attempt to reinstall my steam software from the actual counterstrike disk. but i after i install the steam software and steam auto connects to the main steam server for all needed updates or patches, i get this message box saying
" Steam-Error There was a problem with your Steam installation. Please reinstall steam. "

The steam update notice is on the following link under STEAM / COMMUNITY.

It is the first listed correction but somehow it isn't working right.
P.S. i sent you this message from to the steampowered.com site and accessed my personal steam account that way.
