ULTRAKILL is a fast paced retro shooter - where management of resources like ammo and weapons is thrown out the window.


Every weapon is unique - from the Core Eject's canisters to the Electric Nailgun's magnets - every weapon has it's own thing that you can transform. And so you do, for those sweet, sweet style points.

Parry a projectile - style points. Ricochet multiple coins off of each other - style points. Shoot an electric beam into a coin to make it ricochet back to the same enemy again - TONS of style points. This game rewards curiousity - and tech sometimes originates as a bug which turns into a feature.

And you don't even have to use these mechanics to get a good rank - just don't do the same thing over and over and diversify your playstyle - that will get you going as well.

But if you do - a D rank is waiting. And you're gonna want more than that - thanks to the secret levels locked behind a requirement of Perfect ranks across all levels in an act.


Before playing this game - I didn't like the retro style. I didn't think it was lazy, but it wasn't for me. And I still don't - I'd prefer a low poly style over a retro style every day of the week, but I've come to accept it.

It always reminds me that graphics should always be 2nd - if the game isn't fun - I don't care that it has thousands of kilometers of ground that is detailed to the atom - I'm not gonna enjoy pressing W for 20 minutes only to find another dungeon.


Still didn't complete all this game has to offer after like 40 hours I suck lmfao


Modding is encouraged - I even made my own stupid ones. People over in the discord server are making amazing things - and I cannot wait to try them out


It's unique, stylish & yet simple.

Wether you like it or not - it will require at least some SSSkill to complete - which even I don't
yet have.

However, you won't be able to get away with pure firing - the game will let you go to the next level - but it will show a large D on the level when you go into level select.

But take your time - there's no one to scream at you for being ♥♥♥♥ - and if you truly want every tool available to you - you can look up a guide.
