Don't waste your time with this pile of garbage. The jackpot system is trash,the mmr system is pointless and needed a bullet in the head years ago. Mercury steam is an awful game dev who should feel shame for leaving the game in the state that it is. Soma is meh at best and was not worth the hype MS could have made several new characters for what I bet they paid Joosten to play soma. Dead game, dead dev, Dead community.

It's like the sims,stronghold and oblivion had a rpg rts baby. One of the most fun games I have ever played in the least 15 years. You pick one of many starts either solo or as a group and sort of carve out your own story as you visit places along your way you grow stronger and can even settle your own town. If you enjoy any sort of simulation games this is the best game you could ever buy. Steam has a lot of total trash games in early access but one of the few games to come though the other side not a total cluster ♥♥♥♥ of a disappointment. However if you don't like finding your own fun or are afraid of tough games then this is not the game for you!! Kenshi is brutal with a capital B and gives zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about you! If you make a mistake you WILL pay for it with the core of its gameplay being trial and error. Lose a fight and wind up crippled without the use of your legs? hope the slavers don't come for you good sir. Buy a shiny two handed sword but lose an arm in a fight? Too bad better bring a replacement arm or learn to Hong Kong phooey your way to a prosthetic shop.

All and all kenshi is tough but one hell of a good time. 10000000000000000000/10 would watch my bonedog run around playing with a starvin marvin bandits leg again!

(Also played this on a potato and it ran ok not good but ok, so if you play on one of those you might be ok.)

(Update game plays like magic on a SSD it works just fine on a normal mechanical drive but loads much better and faster with less potential for odd issues on an SSD)

In 2019 this game is still my happy place. ( It should also be noted that kenshi 2 is going into production and WILL NOT be an epic game store exclusive that alone should be enough to warrant a purchase.)

For once hi rez did not make a kirkland version of an already popular game.

It's like ark but the player actually matters. There are also servers with enough custom content, quests, and rule sets that some of them might as well count as a game within themselves. If you had to chose just one "survival" game to play then Conan is the correct choice.

Avoid this cash grab ark clone. It runs like ♥♥♥♥,it looks like ♥♥♥♥, and it is in fact a giant pile of ♥♥♥♥. I take back every nice thing I ever said about this turd of a game.

The best MMO you can play as of 2020! If you are just starting out this game has a massive amount of things to see and do without being overwhelming or unfriendly to new players.

Pros
Lots of Jobs to play
You can do all of the content and play all the jobs on a single character
Easy to play with light learning curve on some of the classes and content flow.
Great writing
Proper sound design
FULLY CUSTOM controls and U.I
You wont need mods for anything ever except MAYBE a dps meter if you want to be a try hard
Holiday events are new every time they roll around with new story and free rewards.
The fee keeps people who ♥♥♥♥ up other mmos away.
Housing system with a level of detail that could put the sims to shame.
There is always something fun to do for the first few years you will be playing

Cons
Content loop can get stale and predictiable after you have played for a few years
PvP is there but its kind of a joke and never gets the love it needs.
The item level gap is harder to close if you don't play often enough and can cause you to have to grind older content for a few hours until you have the iIvl to play the new and fun stuff
The fee to play each month feels a tad expensive when you play out all the content and don't have much to do on low content cycles or patches for content you are uninterested in.
Anything that is not story, a raid, and or season content is usually a boring grind.
Gathering and crafting are just kind of a slog but some people enjoy it.
ALL the end game gear is mostly spiky glowy oversized ugly anime stuff.


Updated review for 2020 overall its the best MMO you can play but in the end its still an MMO.

A deathmatch game with survival elements if thats what you are after then buy it if you want a real survival experience look elsewhere. Wipes far too often to feel like you can establish any attachment to your base or your gear,its all going to be gone in a day or so regardless if you get raided or not. AI on animals is ♥♥♥♥ and the gunplay is solid.

- Very nice selection of tameable creatures that all have a role to play and serve a distinct purpose


Cons
- RUNS LIKE A PILE OF ♥♥♥♥ NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
- gunplay is awful and the hit detection is the worst I have ever seen in a video game that you can pay real money for.
- Vanilla is boring and slow, moded servers are THE way to go with this game after you played a few hours of the base game experience
- PvP is mostly people picking you up and droping you from the skybox or kiting dinos to the water to drown them.
- No one ever really attacks when your online and awake mostly just offline raiding ( find a server with offline raid protection or a safe base server with war declaration)

Joined a lobby. Got greeted by a video of a posh brit singing about vast ammounts of whatever "dosh" is. 10/10 would watch old VH1 UK video clips again.

Killed 3 guys defending a sex doll with a semi automatic shotgun. 10/10
