Well, I will be the first one to admit as to how addicting EU4 can be. Gameplay is solid, and a perfect example of what a Grand Strategy game should be. It may seem intimidating at first to a new comer, but getting over the learning curve is so rewarding - you'll find yourself playing for hours on end (believe me, many a night has seamlessly past by due to this game).

Now it is time to address the elephant in the room, the ridiculous DLC policy. This tends to be the main plight for many Paradox product consumers in general, not just for EU4. Paradox has been well known to add a morbid amount of DLC with morbidly steep prices to their titles, buying all of it would cost you (on average) around 200 USD! Not to mention the fact that some of the mechanics featured in the DLC should already BE in the game. But in the end of the day, each their own when it comes to the expansions.

Overall, it's a great title- even the base game. At the time of writing this review, I have spent almost 200 hours staring at a MAP. Because that's what this game is, a glorified map! I would recommend it, but I would also recommend getting the DLC on sale (for the your wallets sake).
