To me, I have been looking for something that had that similar feel to H1Z1 just Survive, and this kind-of fills that void. I just wish there was PTT in it. I guess it was removed a short time ago for unknown reasons. Other than that, for a free game, I find it very fun thus far.

There are still some bugs in the game, but, the fun factor is there. Right now, times to get on a server has been terrible, but, I am hoping more official servers become available or they up the number of people on a server from 100 to 150+.

If you liked the 1996 film and wanted to be in that action, then you will like this game. The only good bug, is a dead bug!

The SP is fun, but once I heard there was a mod for co-op that the modders came out with, that's what drove me to finally buy it. I just really hope that they improve upon it. This game should have had a co-op mode in the first place. IMO, it was a missed opportunity on their part.

I find this game enjoyable. It's something similar to other games I have played in the past, like WarFace, but, in the PvE aspect, it is not linear like it is in that game.

So far, I have really enjoyed this game. The look and feel reminds me of the game, "The Hunter: Call of the Wild", but with robots. I have not gotten into the building aspect of the game, but, will get there eventually so I can't comment on that . There are some things I am not a fan of, for example, the UI, that could be a lot better. The storage container is too small, I would like to see that increased in size by, at minimum, 50%. Doubled would be better, as well as the recycling tables storage.

So, if you like hunting robots, then you will probably like this game. This is a different, but fun game and the visuals are great, along with the sound. Some of the best sound of any games I have played lately, even better than some of the AAA titles out there, along with some of the visual effects from night.

Thus far, I have been really enjoying this game. Started off slow and linear, but opened up after the tutorial section. I wish playing with friends was easier. Linking everything and me needing to set up an Xbox account was a pain.

I do recomend this game, but two thing really need to be done to this game ASAP.
1.) They need to put in a report button and actually look at the player to see if they are cheating, like PUBG did. I have had several questionable deaths. I don't report many people on PUBG, but, the one's I have, were banned due to cheating.

2.) The vehicles seem to make you bullet proof while in them. I have had some point blank shots where they should have been headshots, but they weren't. Then you got people explointing that in game.

If those two areas were fixed ASAP, the game would be much better.

There was a time I had a review on here saying that the game had potential, and I recommended the game. When Season 5 was released, I decided to take some time off from the game as I knew several of the system that they were putting in the game were going to be awful. Well, last week, a few clan mates and I decided to give it a try, here is what we found.

  • Schematics - The new schematic system is just awful. Everyone I talked to on the servers I went to all hated it, and I understand why. The implementation of it is bad, but the system is just not great, especially for the type of game they were making. In reality, if they wanted to go with a schematic system, it should have been more of find/buy the schematic, learn it, and forever know it. As it stands, you need a schematic for every wall, foundation, weapon/tool, (except for the most basic). It's too much. It should be a find/buy once thing and done. That would have been better than what it is now. This system that they have now, makes the tablet system they had in S4 and prior look like a much better option.

  • Difficulty Level - I am all for making it harder as I found the world too easy, but there is a line to draw from making it a bit harder to, if you're solo, good luck. I think they went way too crazy with the amount of rupu camps that have heavy artillery. I do like the changes that they made with the Nurrs, but, adding them to most of the desert camps is a bit much. That to me could be toned down a bit. Overall, I think a happy medium would have been to take what it was, take what it is now, and put the new setting somewhere in-between.

  • NPC Bugs - It's been a while since S5 has been released, and I have noticed a bunch of skipping in enemy animations to full fledge warping. This has happened on a couple of private servers and the official servers. There is a frog creature that was put in S5, and on several occasions, I have seen it teleport from one spot to on top of my character. Before you say that it's my hardware, well, I can promise you that it's definitely not. I had, on one of the occasions, a couple of guys that I met on the server see the same thing. I have seen it with the Nurrs and Rupus, which can make it difficult to hit with a javelin at times.

  • Removal of Walkers & Equipment - I am guessing that some of this was due to the new hard points system that they were implementing into the game, but seriously guys, if it's not done, don't add it. They remove a bunch of the walkers from the game, as well as some of the grapples and the wing-suit. The grapple and wing-suit were some of my favorite times, well, until I built the Raptor.

  • Nomadic game that isn't nomadic - This game whole premise was based on being nomadic, plain and simple, Now, it's not. I play mostly on PvE private servers where being nomadic wasn't a big thing, I didn't mind it, since that was the premise and did keep me busy, (in a good way). Now, not so much. I liked before being able to move and having to have a change of scenery, now, once you place down a foundation, that is it. If you want to move, gather mats and build in a new location, then slowly move everything since now the hard points restrictions make it difficult to transfer things.

  • In-Game Mechanics - This one to me makes no sense, but here it goes. I had an occurrence on one of the servers I play on, where I built two bases. Both made from the same mats. In one of the bases, I had an advanced fiber working stations. That added a couple of new resources to base maintenance, but nothing I couldn't handle. When I moved it to my new, bigger base, it added more resources that were not present on the other base. So I moved it back and sure enough, those other resources weren't there. So between 2 bases that were made from the same blueprints, just adding the stuff from the other base, added required materials that were not required when it was in the other base.

These idiosyncrasies between the two bases makes no sense, and things like this just drive me nuts.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, I can not recommend this game in its current state, even if it was sold for only $5, heck, even if it was F2P I don't think I can recommend it. I know that they said that they are building the game that they wanted, and that's fine, but, if doing it is driving away your players, (customers), then I take it you are okay with letting it fail, and you don't get paid. I used to love streaming this game and I would always talk to people looking to buy the game and ask me if I could recommend the game, and I would say yes. Now, this game is no longer fun, and now to solo in the game, you pretty much have to turn it into a job.

I know some of the fanboys that love the current state of the game, (there are a few of you), will say that I am only saying this because I played previous seasons, and I am not looking at this from a new players' perspective. Well, guess what, I have to agree with you. Granted, if I was a new player, I would like to know how it is and once was, and see from a veterans POV, for if a game is willing to do drastic changes that seem to get a large majority of people saying that it was a bad move, and the concurrent player numbers dropping to below half of what it was in S4, does paint a big picture that they F-ed it up and are doing little to nothing to fix it, but instead trying to improve on a system that doesn't fit this game and is just trash. Sometimes, you need to lick your wounds, realize that what you did is bad, go back and start over.

I actually have to say yes and no that I recommend this game. YES because its a fun game and new content has been added pretty consistent over the years. The big problem with this game and the reason i would say NO is the lack of doing anything about the hackers. Every day, I run into at least a few hackers. This makes it difficult to enjoy the game. There are things you can do to help alleviate the annoyance, but nothing permanent and they can still get to you.
