A fun and engaging coop game with some background campaign mechanics that you don't have to bother with if you don't enjoy it. The game plays well, in spite of some minor UI bugs and 8/10 AI. Would recommend, if you have friends to play with or enjoy playing games with strangers.

This game could be a great experience for anyone who enjoys hunting/marksmanship and generally slow simulators. The game can at times give you a very zen experience, and the way animals move and react to the player looks and feels authentic, creating an overall great experience.

I can't recommend it to anyone, though, due to the insanely greedy economic model. The game will reward you with currency to make you feel as though you are making progress, and give you a three-day test of 'membership' which unlocks all animals for hunting and some more spawn points in the hunting grounds. The currency you get from rewards, however, can only be used to purchase consumables and very non-ubiquitous items like 'canada geese lures' and such. To get any weapons, vehicles, pets or general enjoyment out of any part of the game after the 8 hour mark, you'll want to dish out somewhere between 49.99 and 105 euros, a frankly disgusting amount of money for a game which expects you to put an ungodly amount of time and effort into playing it.

If the payment model was very different, I might reconsider and recommend this beautifully crafted game, but as it stands, there's no game to speak of, closer to a rental service (It stands to mention that all hunting licenses are temporary, yet can be bought for real cash)

Early Access Review
I've owned this game for a year or so, and played it a lot both with friends and on my own, and I wish I could recommend it but the flaws have become too glaring over time: Multiplayer, an aspect of the game which is copletely necessary; the entire game being based around highly populated servers, is broken: Attempting to set up a server and having your friends join you, following ANY of the many guides availible, or any of the in-game options, is tedious and usually results in nothing. You have two choices if you want to play with your friends: join a public server, or play something else.
On top of this, ARK has a very nice crafting system with loads of interesting things to learn and construct; but the crafting costs compared to actual item drops is atrocious, the game seemingly expecting you to have a good twenty strong tribe with you consisting of people willing to pool together their resources to make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forge so you can make rudimentary metal gear.
"So?" they say, "its in early access, they just haven't got around to it yet", but they should have, they've released multiple DLC and loads of new creatures and content, and not a single thing has happened to fix the problems with the multiplayer. So don't buy this until the multiplayer is fixed: YOU shouldn't have to do work to get a server up, that's the dev's job.

It's a horror game. With crafting. What's not to love?
The Forest has taken me by surprise by being a truly horrifying experience with a tight scope and good synergy between mechanics.

I strongly recommend giving it a try, but perhaps waiting until after the game is finished. There are some bugs to fix and general gameplay elements to add, but with the teams progress so far, I'd say we can expect a lot from this game in the future.

Path of exile is amazing.

I wouldn't call path the best game that has been made these last few years, but I will say this: Path of exile is waht Diablo 3 should have been, and that is amazing.

With a completely unrestricted, shared, skill-tree and stat-based talents, path of exile is a hardcore dungeon crawler with a good story that allows the player to build a character based completely on their playstyle and preferences. It is unrivalled in freedom when compared to any other dungeon crawler or hack n' slash I've played and together with the great story and fluid gameplay it makes this my absolutely most nejoyable game of 2013, and I strongly recommend it to all and everyone.
