Pros:
- Combat is definitely improved compared to the original Hand of Fate with improved animations and more options with weapons and the addition of companions with unique abilities.
- Graphically this game is big step up over the first with: improved lighting, textures and animations in (and out) of combat.
- Continues to have a great atmosphere and possibly even better music than the first (except combat music)
- Still remains satisfying to design decks to defeat the unique challenges and acquiring the gold tokens (harder challenges).
- Deck-building is much improved in this game with clearer objectives before starting a challenge as well as providing filters to find certain cards based on what they provide.
- Interesting meta-narrative which is carried over from the first game and expanded upon.
- I enjoyed the additional gambit mini-games and how they mixed up the gameplay a bit more than the first game.

Cons:
- Combat is still relatively simple and can get repetitive.
- Some aspects of the game are RNG-based (dice gambit and chance gambit, kinda) which was sometimes really frustrating to die to due to bad RNG. Although this was improved compared to the first game with more options to reduce RNG with equipment.
- Bit nit-picky but I was disappointed with the combat music compared to the first.

Conclusion:
I really enjoyed my time with this game and spending time in this universe. The meta-narrative and deckbuilding are the strongest points of this game which kept me hooked until the end, despite the relatively average combat. Overall a great sequel which improved over the original in every way, if you enjoyed the first you will enjoy Hand of Fate 2 even more.

Sad to see the developers shut down and we probably won't get a sequel :(
