Melodramatic dog-walking simulator.

As others have said, absolutely no connection to Blair Witch besides being set in a forest decorated with stick-and-twine ornaments. Even the ornaments, while the movie made them seem creepy and foreboding, this game turns them into collectables.

The only suggestion of horror is dead bodies. To create horror the movie seeded the situation with an appeal of authenticity, tainting the water with various stories arousing primal fear, superstition, inherited night-terrors of culture and genes, allowing the mind to serve the purpose of consciousness - filling in the gaps. The movie never did present a horror. It provided an emptiness for the viewer to project horror onto. In contrast, this game not only contradicted the single focus of horror suggested by the movie, an absentia taking on the form of the viewers imagination, instead providing various badies, but those badies ranged from laughable to tired cliche, and none present any tangible danger to the player. Ever.

The world itself, the models, the map, the set pieces, the atmosphere, the sound, it was all done really well and when first starting the game gave promise. Playing through the game it quickly became clear that there was no particular provocation of fear, which is disappointing but still the game provided some entertainment. And then came the nonsense badies. And the boring, irrelevant and beaten-dead-horse of a story. But they kind of came and went and still it was not that bad. It was now a treasure hunt in an aesthetically appealing setting with irritating but minor distractions.

And then the calamity of creatives is imposed upon the player, the relentless self-glorious presentation of longingly coveted emotional turmoil masquerading as artistic expression. A will to convey a meaning as purposeless and unauthentic as is the obstacle of a rolling pile of leaves in a supposedly horror setting. Piled on as thick as the forest and bog of the swamp that the character has just passed through.

And it drags on and on and on. For no reason. And no reward. Nothing is added. Nothing is gained. No reward. No challenge. Nothing worth saying. If it wasn't for this ending, which I think may have dragged on for several hours in fact, then I'd have been overall satisfied with this game. Instead, I think I actually hate Bloober Team.

Enjoyably simple, with a few tricks up its sleeve. This could easily be a timeless classic.

Didn't find any mp matches, so can't comment on that. And that was when they held the competition as a launch celebration. Not looking good. Lacking local co-op and split screen. Huge drawback. So I played through most of the solo mode in one sitting. It was good, but I can't see a reason to do it a second time. It'd be great if it had more solo stuff, different modes, but it only has a time-trial thing where you compete with an online scoreboard. It makes you feel like you need to rush. I did like it for the while that I played it, but I don't always want pressure when playing a game.

The game seems great. Just, with only one not particularly interesting solo mode, getting no online matches, and no other mp options, well, there is no incentive to play the game.

I hope they change my mind.

Great game to play alone in a squad with 99 other people.

Sometimes I turn on the auto-play option and let the computer have a turn playing something on the computer for once. Gets it out in the wide world trying new things and making friends with itself for a change. Makes a nice screen saver, too.

I just wanna give a heads-up: THERE IS NO WAY TO RESET PROGRESS IN THIS GAME!!! Apparently, what I read is that some people were having trouble accidentally deleting their saves, so to combat their clumsiness these genius devs apparently decide to fight fire with fire and entirely removed any possibility of deleting a save.

So, if your dog sits on your controller and 100% the game while licking his balls then your game's ruined. You're now just sliding around a bunch of empty maps with no particular purpose.

I mean, at least you can wash the controller...

It's pretty much single-player Carcassone rogue-lite with a gentle ambience.
