I got this game as a joke. I streamed it for my friends, and we put on voices for the characters, thinking it would be a silly, bad game at best.

15 minutes in, waiting to find the funny incest scene, but I only encounter weird dialogue between the two characters. I laughed at some of the dialogue; it was pretty good.

20 minutes in, I'm starting to like the game. The puzzles are pretty enjoyable and not overly complicated. The world-building was great; it never needed to dump lore on us, and the art style was cute and very well done.

35 mins in, we're enjoying the game and cracking a few jokes about the characters going to ♥♥♥♥ each other, lol funny incest haha.

Then the game throws us a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ curveball and shows us a rather messed up scene. Returning to when the two siblings were children, they wanted to play hide and seek in an abandoned warehouse and planned to trap a random girl there overnight. All because she liked Andy. Andy was uncomfortable with it, but his sister guilt-tripped him into doing it, which shocked me greatly. So they trapped her inside a box and left her there.

(There was some gameplay in between this.)

The siblings came back to the abandoned warehouse to let the girl out. Leyley kicks the box and berates the girl inside, but no one responds. Andy opens the box and finds the poor girl dead. He's horrified and shuts the lid of the box. Leyley stands there unfazed and starts to make fun of her for having asthma, saying, and I quote, "If you're so weak that you die just like that, then clearly nature doesn't want you to live." Andy tries to figure out how to dispose of the body, and they ultimately decide to bury her.

After that, I was sold on this game. I wish I could put everything I want to say about this game in my Steam review, but I also don't want to spoil the game for everyone else. This is one of the best story-based games I've played. At this point, I also thought the funny incest game was nothing more than a joke—that some fan drew the characters ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and Twitter took it and ran with it.

3 hours in, I found the funny incest scene. It was not a joke. Twitter was right for once.

Overall, if you want to play a story-rich game with some good character interaction or have a couple of friends who want to voice some characters, this is the game for you. 10/10 I'll be waiting for Episode 3.

10 hours in, I've interacted with anything I could. Picked every option I could. Saved every key point of the game. Obtained all of the achievements. Finished the badge. I've done everything. There is no more content… Now, I will leave the game running in the background forever.

507.8 hours in, I'm beginning to believe that I might know everything about Andy and Leyley. I may be the only one who understands the level of detail in this game. I may be the only one with these hours. I haven't checked, but I believe I'm the only one. This joke is no longer funny to me. I'm scared.

543.4 hours in, The Coffin of Andy and Leyley deserves to win a Steam award in one of these categories: “Outstanding Visual Style, Best Soundtrack, Outstanding Story-Rich Game.” I also think it deserves to win Game of the Year, but Baldur's Gate 3 is going to win without a doubt, and I'm fine with that. I also discovered I'm not the only one with these hours. I don't know how to feel about it.

899.9 Hours in. I've been playing the game on my PC for a month now. Sometimes, I forget that it's running. I'm considering going through the game files to check for any missing content or a sneak peek for what's to come in the 3rd episode. Might not do it, though. But I'm going to start speed-running the game, YES! REALLY! I think it would be fun. Maybe I'll find a bug or two.

1,047.1 Hours in, I have done it. Over 1,000 hours. I'm happy to stop running the game in the background now. I might start playing other story-based games again; I have missed them. I'm delighted to see the new team taking over the coding side of things, although I wasn't worried about it. I'll update my review for the game when episode 3 comes out, but until then, no more updates.

10,034 hours in, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! EPISODE 3!!! IT'S HERE! Jokes aside. Hello again. After getting 10,000 hours in the game, I thought that was enough and left it there. But now that Episode 3 is out, I can go back and update my review and start playing it again.

I love it. However, some of the puzzles have caused soft locks, which have been fixed. I lost a bit of progress during my playthrough, but it wasn’t that bad.

I can’t say much about the story, as I wish not to spoil it for those wanting to get the game. But I can say that Episode 3 is perfect in every way. The game now has endings, with different routines for the Decay path. I haven’t gotten all of them yet, but I will soon. I hope the Burial path will also have its own endings too. The writing is great, as always.

Great update. I can't wait to see the Burial Update or Episode 4; I want to know how this ends.
