Although I reviewed the Contact DLC negatively, I can absolutely recommend this game to everyone that likes sandbox games.
I wouldnt describe Arma as a "military simulation" because it can be much more than that.
There are numerous gamemodes, ranging from combat to roleplaying to leading an insurgency to overthrow a government (there still are many more but have a look for yourself).
The DLC's are great (except Contact in my opinion). They add alot to the game and even when you dont own them you can still play with other people that do.
The modding capabilities of this game are also great, its quite easy to manage even if you have 100+ mods downloaded.
The only con that I can think of is the performance. Its hard to get over 100fps stable even with high-end gear so consider that.
In my opinion the storymode (not the Apex story which is great) isnt the best but its not a major point of the game. Most people havent played it and its more of a showcase of what the game can do. But see for yourself.

For somebody that likes sandbox games in which you can do whatever you want while still looking good doing it and maybe has some mates to invite, this game is for you.
