Repurposing this review, Cannot recommend this game anymore, it's future is extremely uncertain and several key figures of the dev team and community were just laid off today. I do not see a future where this game lasts another few years to get out of it's beta state and regain a large playerbase like the original. stay away.

Fun frame, cool skins, bought this to signify that they're doing a fantastic job as of late, 1999 is another banger, good job DE, let's keep up the momentum!

Gotta come here and leave a positive review after finishing the campaign, had a lot of issues with lightfall and genuinely didn't think i'd be coming back to play this one, but after cautious optimism after reading people's thoughts, i bit the bullet

And it was worth it, so damn worth it, D2's never been a storytelling juggernaut to me, it's always been passable to good, never really bad per se, just decent.

The Final Shape really showed me they still have what it takes to write something excellent.

This is the best story DLC they've ever done except for maybe forsaken, and even then i'm still preferring this, the highs, the lows, the epic moments, and the quiet ones, they were all done flawlessly this time around

Normally, i do not recommend buying D2 DLC full price, this is the first time i'll give that recommendation whole heartedly, I want Bungie to know that if they take their time and don't worry about an expac every single year without fail, they'll be more than successful, and the game will have a long life ahead of it.

Absolutely gets my stamp of approval.

Thank you SuperGiant, Loved Hades, Love this one even more already. even the first early access release has more content and depth than the original did at launch and that's just gods damn impressive

Absolute 100% unequivocal recommendation from me, BUY THIS GAME.

Changing this review back to positive since Sony has relented on their PSN requirement, now we wait to see if the game goes back on sale in the countries affected

The game itself is awesome, a fun, if a little repetitive co-op shooter which nails the theme and aesthetic it goes for, and makes fun of the worst kind of people

Definitely worth your money

Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupendous, 100% worth the extra wait and bit of cash, if you loved RE4 Remake, please do yourself a favour and pick this up, it's More of the best parts of the game, and fixes a few of my issues with it to boot.

Cannot recommend this at the moment, trying to get a refund because i've been almost entirely unable to play the game thanks to the constant, all encompassing server issues on this online only game

maybe i'll repurchase in 6 months time, if Overkill lasts that long after this.

Very fun fighting game, runs well even on my aging machine, easy to pick up for a beginner like me, and the stylistic choices like a focus on the street fight aspect of the series with the aesthetic and themes is DOPE

Absolutely a great game to pick up if you're ever looking to join into the fighting game craze

Gonna find myself making a lot of callbacks to Dark souls in this review, just because that is how this game was sold to me

Quite frankly, while i can see where the appeal comes from, i didn't enjoy this game a bit

let's start on a few things it does okay, before i go to where i think it fails

Pros:
Reasonably pretty
Neat little world to explore
Has a tutorial that's okay at teaching the player
Reminds me of older RPG Aesthetics

As for things i disliked, and some supporting reasons as to why i personally didn't jive with it
-Difficulty is high, but not in a way that felt natural
Enemies hit like absolute trucks, with very little wind up for many attacks, and were borderline unstaggerable without at least 6-7 swings in on them, meaning unless they opted to actually make a swing with commitment, nothing happened, or you have to trade with them
-Combat feels... bad
Take Souls combat, now remove any weight to it, and instead replace that with floatiness
it's slow, but there's 0 weight behind any swings or feedback on hits, so it gets the worst of both worlds
-Punishment for death on top of punishment for death
Demon's souls health penalty, but expanded to stamina too, and much harsher than 50% from a single death, one of my biggest gripes with this game by far, if someone's already struggling to kill something, making them even worse at it unless they go trudge far enough away to have a little nap is not a fun or interesting gameplay mechanic, it's just tedium.

If you can put up with Jank and are more patient than me, this game's probably fine eventually, but i've lost any interest in playing it again after a few hours, i cannot personally recommend it.

The story is honestly kind of boring and drags on, but side quests and origin characters are well written, this review will be fleshed out eventually, but know it's a fun game and worth a purchase, especially on sale
