Well. The best MMORPG. Nuff said.

But i will still add.

First of all, i should mention- i love MMORPGs. As a genre. But the games in this genre are absolute horrible s. I have played a lot of different ones, from Lineage, to Black Desert, from ESO to WoW. And only two of all of them caught my attention. WoW and then FFXIV. A long time ago, when I first tried WoW, it was something new, something refreshing. This huge world of endless possibilities. But let’s put it this way- no matter what i did, i always felt like it didn’t have something that I wanted. Maybe story was a bit too simple, or maybe classes were going to complete s. I did enjoy Legion, but at BfA I just broke. Grind grind and more grind. And while looking around WoW subreddit I was seeing more and more mentions of FFXIV. And so, with absolutely zero expectations, I decided to give it a try…

At start it was kinda weird. The lack of voice acting, the graphics were far from being the best. But I still decided to stick aroud. Played a bit with Black Mage(Thaumaturge), but he was really slow at the start, so started a new character as Arcanist…

And only after playing non stop for a straight week, I understood that I liked this game. I went there absolutely blind, not following any guides(As this is not my first MMORPG game, and I can use my brain and think). The story was simple, at start, but then you get thrown into the whole world of politics, heroes and villains. And the world is alive. At least to some extent. The best part is that NPCs remember your deeds. This is not a game a story of one single expansion, where in the next one, or maybe even next zone, you are nobody to noone. No. In FFXIV, the stuff that you did in the past, actually matters. NPCs remember you. They believe in you. You are a hero to them, maybe even a god to some. Of course this is not an RPG, where story actually changes depending on your actions, but as for MMO one- they did great.

The classes are different and interesting. I leveled up Scholar and Summoner to max, and then decided to try Rogue(As it was my favourite class back in WoW). And yes. The classic anime-like story of shinobis, still feels nice. But the Mudra mechanic, my god it’s fun. It’s simple(Because you know, mmorpg), but still has a lot of fun depth. Currently started leveling Marauder, as i want to try tanking, and I’m absolutely sure, that it will also be fun and different from others. And the fact that each class has its own story, is also absolutely great.

And the last great point for me, are the meme faces. As I complete any game, I try to catch all the meme faces, as well as just actually funny jokes, and my god, there are a lot of them. I already have over 1.5k screenshots, and believe me, there are close to 0 “aww cure picture of my character I need to share it with everybody”.

So yeah. You like complex MMORPGs, with truly great story, and you are not afraid of it not having full voice acting, and not the best graphics(A bit fixable with ReShade, but still)- buy it. (And yes, don’t buy it in Steam. Buy it from official site, it will be better for your wallet in the future. Don’t repeat my mistakes)
