Awful. Should not have been at the end of the Game Awards.
"Developed for 4 years in secret" to produce the most unfun game I've played.
As someone who's been playing FPS shooters for over a decade I cannot explain to you how awful it feels to play this game.

The only people who get outlines are your teammates. During combat the feedback for taking and giving damage is so unnoticeable that I can barely figure out who's hitting who, and the excruciatingly long time to kill makes combat feel like staring contests while we wait to see who's particle effects kill the other first. That's if you can even see them. The gun's recoil, muzzle flash, and the lack of enemy outlines makes it impossible to reacquire your enemy while shooting at them.
The gameplay outside of combat feels lifeless too. You go grab guns or tools from chests around the map or mine ore to upgrade your stuff at a shop. That's all you do until the shield breaker spawns, try to get stronger than the enemies by playing a loot quest till you have to play capture the shield breaker.

Once a team grabs a shield breaker and take it to the enemy base, a raid starts. Raids are the best part of the game, you get to be in constant combat, which isn't saying much considering how awful combat feels. On top of that, the raids are just the Rush gamemode from battlefield. You have 2 generators and a heart, and the attackers have plant bombs on either both generators or the heart and wait the timer down to explode to win. The defenders have to make sure the bombs aren't planted, or defused. Same ♥♥♥♥ different game, with combat that feels like egg yolk.

God this game needs a lot of work, but it's already lost it's chance with a lot of people, including me.

A masterpiece that gave me hope and brought back what I believed made great games. Reminds me a hell of early 2000's games. Banger soundtrack. Played and viewed many "on the beat" type games, but this alone blows them all out of the water. 10/10 only drawback is that there's not a second game yet.

Originally ignored games like this but after picking it up, genuinely became my all time favorite series and soundtrack.

A masterpiece and what a sequel should be.
