TL-DR: A well-done title, equal in standing to Resident Evil 7's return to the franchise's route in horror, but marred by a few glitches and mechanics that should be improved upon. The default FoV (Field Of View) setting needs to be worked on.

A solid game through and through.
Going back for another session.
Not yet tested: The "Don't play alone" feature (with online or offline friends), will evaluate that over the holidays when I have more time.

Otherwise, game performance even with ray tracing on is superb.

Despite its' many technical achievements, such as gameplay mechanics coupled with slightly improved graphics options, the game's downfall lies in its' convoluted story, distracting and littered side quests that break focus from the classic Tomb Raider narrative, and overall feels like it should've been at best, a DLC for the previous title, Rise Of The Tomb Raider.

Launching this game at its' current standing, especially its' story, feels as if it was rushed, An incoherent mess, at best, with a touch on RPG mechanics that feel out of place and despite best efforts, fail to deliver on the build up that is Shadow Of the Tomb Raider.

There should've been a precursor to this game, at the very least. What was once a loved franchise feels like another rushed release timed with the holidays, and it's outright insulting to these who've played the reboots since 2013's excellent Tomb Raider. For new players, this might as well be one of the very best game launches this year. For franchise fans, there's nothing here that coherently ties up Lara's end as a tomb raider.

For these reasons above, despite the title's strong technical merits, I cannot, in good faith, recommend this game.

The Evil Within 2 is a surprisingly good successor to the Evil Within.
I did not have much hope in this, having played the first game and requesting a refund for it shortly.
This perfects the vision of the predecessor and exceeds expectations by a considerable margin.
Expect solid gameplay mechanics, a good story, appropriately paced mission structure and decent game length.
The graphical issues on PC (Windows, to be exact) are still prevalent. Frame drops are common, though its' easily fixable by a frame limiter such as NVIDIA Inspector.

Overall rating: 8.5/10.

In a world where punching nazis has become (somewhat) controversial, enter into a world where you'll get to slay the Reich and its' minions in the only medium gamers understand: A million bullets, gore levels nearing these of the DOOM reboot, and a game difficulty scale where raising it by a notch is an understatement.

Step into the shoes of Blaskowitz, a dying Nazi-slaying jew for whom a beheading is merely an opportunity for an upgrade, and witness a game plot that actually makes you give a ♥♥♥♥ about the cutscenes. So many onion chopping moments that go well together with shredding Nazis to the tune of an overflowing lead faucet and the barrage of unmatched creativity at inflicting gory kills.

DOOM, here's your match. Make your next move.

A worthy sequel to Conviction in every respect, except in one area:

Widescreen support. If you have a 21:9 panel, you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck here.
