Early Access Review
After Dread X Shatter masterpiece Lovely Hellplace released another gem - but this time it's bigger, more complex, prettier and even more Dready!

Heavilly inspired by one of my favorite games of all time and genre of games from my childhood - Planescape Torment world, FF VII/Gothic/Baldur's Gate narration style and PS1-wave games in general

Lore and combat are also quite interesting and unique, so it's another good reason to give it a try. RPG mechanics are exactly like in any good 90s game - so yeah, peak of RPG and combat is kinda like FPP Soul's like with many weapons variants and styles.

Each hour makes me even more impressed by how good Dread Delusions graphics and artstyle looks like. These pixels and colors, eh... Graphics are increadibly beautiful if U like floaty PS1 vibes and soundtrack is bringing amazing Shatter memories, since first minutes.

If I'd have to point one thing which is completelly outstanding in Dread Delusion, I would say - world and location design is one of a kind. Everything seems odd and hard to navigate at the begining but after each hour player understand more and more... It's actually good description for whole game tbh.

Trully amazing addon to this design is a fact that game take ideas from many other games, about progression in navigating the world - first U open shortcuts to some places, after reaching certain points. Then You can also enable world placed teleports to it, so traveling from town to town isn't a problem anymore and at the end U are getting ur own ship to navigate really fast on long distances. In my opinion this is some real fresh air in backtracking topic in gaming.

SHORT:

I wasn't expecting such complexity and massive, multi-dimensional world design with big stories in it, told by tons of well written text, especially for such low price. Didn't had so much fun in very long time, so it's easielly my...
game of the year.

9.5/10

Shatter was only an awesome demo for this insane gem, thanks Lovely Hellplace.
