Simply stunning. I've been a gamer for over 30 years, and this easily ranks in the top 5 if not the top 3 best games I've played to date. I couldn't recommend Subnautica enough - although I'll admit it's one of the first survival-type games I've played for more than a few hours.

One perk that I don't think has been mentioned in reviews I've read for Subnautica is the way it accomodates 'collector' type gamers like myself. Discovering new fauna in the various underwater (and some land) biomes will often award you with the chance to take a sample (seed or creature egg), and return to your base with it to reproduce it and observe/enjoy your discoveries all in one place.

After my first 2-3 play-throughs, I still have the urge to replay it again and try a long list of ideas for which to advance and explore. Other game companies out there could learn alot from Subnautica's brilliant gameplay and balance - i WILL be back for more, and hope to high heaven UWE continues to both expand this masterpiece as well as dev more games of this type!
