Helldivers itself is an amazing game that promises hundreds of hours of fun with both friends and strangers alike. You will encounter and experience many things that you could only describe as being scenes straight out of some ridiculous action movie, only to then get your limbs melted off by the acidic vomit from a giant insect.

However, besides that short description of the game at face value, it promises yet more. At the heart of this game now lies a beautiful community, a strong community, one that you can trust will have your back, both as you drop onto the surface of a planet with a random set of strangers, or as a greedy corporation tries to influence the game and its developers against your best interests.

Today, may 6th as of writing this review, the community has in its entirety pulled together to stop Sony from forcing players to link Sony's PSN to your steam, under threat of being banned from the game if you refused or are otherwise unable to, due to certain regions blocking PSN. This resulting in dozens of countries being unable to access a game they paid for. Even for players in regions where PSN is available, it would be ill-advised to link this service to your steam account, as PSN has proven itself time and again as one of the highest security breach risks for your personal data.
But, thanks to this amazing community, who didn't once back down, this would never come to pass.

Thank you, to all my fellow Helldivers who did their part, and will continue to do their part in stopping greedy corporations from ruining one of the few true gems in the modern gaming industry.
