Full transparency: I previously worked at a VR development studio on another stealth-action game, so please keep in mind that I may be biased. I played using Oculus Rift S.

To get this out of the way: I recommend Sniper Elite VR. It's really fun, has some amazing moments, excellent mechanics, strong mission design and (most importantly) it really does feels like a proper Sniper Elite game.

But it isn't perfect by any means. I had a lot of small problems with the game that really did pile up towards the end of the game. My biggest issue was with the game's controls which felt imprecise a lot of the time - I lost count of the number of times I've tried to charge my weapon and grabbed the grip again, an issue which could easily be fixed by allowing the player to rebind the bolt operation to the trigger instead of grab button on their controllers. Returning to levels repeatedly started to get quite boring at times, especially when the reasons for it were increasingly becoming more contrived over time, and the narrative's pacing felt like it was all over the place. Oh, and the narrator's voice acting isn't great. It really started to get on my nerves by the end of the game, kind of wish there was an option to shut him up on replays of missions.

However, I cannot understate how much fun this game is to play. It's got some great "wow" moments, almost all of the weapons (when you're not fumbling with them) feel great to fire and the mission design keeps things interesting (even when going through environments you've already seen before). Turn off the HUD and crank up the difficulty to maximum, and you'll end up having an incredible stealth-action experience.

Does Sniper Elite VR have the level of polish and interactivity as games like Half Life Alyx or even Medal Of Honor? No. But is Sniper Elite VR worth your time? Absolutely.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Arkham series, so I was really excited to give the VR version a shot.

It's very different in gameplay to the main series - think of ArkhamVR as showing one of Batman's more detective-focused nights compared to Arkham City's combat and stealth-filled adventure - but the execution is spectacularly well done. Rocksteady really do make you feel like you are the Batman in this one. Purely as a showcase of what can be done in a VR narrative, Arkham makes for a pretty great experience. It's visually stunning too: environments, equipment and characters all look on-par with 2015's spectacular Arkham Knight.

The core narrative is pretty short. It only took me about an hour to go through the story on my first run. It is pretty decently replayable though - the addition of Riddler's (hilariously fourth-wall breaking) puzzles in subsequent playthroughs rewards investigating each scene more closely than you did on your first run - so don't let that initial runtime put you off.


I'd definitely recommend picking this one up if you like a good VR story, but I do personally feel that the non-sale price is a little steep for what you're getting. I got it for about £7 on sale, and I definitely feel like I got my money's worth.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - definitely worth a play if you like pretty short VR stories or just want to feel like Batman, but don't go in expecting a full-blown open-world Arkham experience.

With all of the DLC installed, this is easily the best COD game in recent years.

The campaign tells a stellar story (excuse the pun) with amazing visuals and some really fun level design. The levels set exclusively in space - be it in your ship on assaulting an enemy cruiser - make use of some of the best controls for a space game I've seen to date, and cannot be faulted. The score for the game is also spectacular, but I won't get into that in too much detail.

The multiplayer definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea, but will be right up your alley if you enjoyed Black Ops 3's MP. I, personally, didn't get into it as much as I have in past games (I only made Prestige 1 or 2, I cannot remember), but all I have are good memories. Finding matches can be a pain at non-peak times (especially in DLC maps), but when you do get into a lobby you're gonna have a good time. The rig system of class customisation is similar to BO2 & 3's Pick 10 system, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as restrictive (as you can change your rig on the fly in game instead of being limited to one specialist player for each game). Maps are varied in size and layout, some better than others, with a few nice remastered classics thrown in. Gunplay is similar to Black Ops 3, but a little slower paced.

Zombies is where Infinite Warfare shines brightest though. The on disk Zombie map - Spaceland - is an absolute hoot, with bright lights, a killer soundtrack and a nice lighthearted spirit that's been missing from a lot of recent Zombies maps in other games. Spaceland is easily the best "base" zombies map since Kino Der Toten in Black Ops. The DLC maps are all radically different, and all knock it out of the park. The addition of the easter egg challenges that had started to get on my nerves by the end of Black Ops 3 was initially a turn-off for me, but all the Infinite Warfare ones feel like something new and rewarding - new characters, modes & customisation items, to name a few.



I firmly believe that this game deserves nowhere near as much hate as it received on launch, and will go down in a lot of players' memories as a high point in the series.

If you can get the GFWL working, then this game is absolutely worth it. That said, GFWL took me about an hour to get working- so not too long. However, as a port, it isn't great. There's some glitches that I have come across- not sure if it is the same on the console versions. Anyway, worth the cash.
One issue that I have had with it is that I apparently don't own EFLC- and have to buy the two episodes seperately- which really annoys me. I'm not sure if that's just me failing somewhere or if anyone else has had this issue. If you have a fix, please let me know.
