This game is a lot of things, and they are all really well done. It's definitely a type of game in which you will die.... A LOT, but it won't dissuade you from trying again. Your equipment really matters depending on what your goal is for each map.

This is a weird review, but this game really is great. Get it.

This is like Battlefield before it became ♥♥♥♥♥♥. It is addictive, fast paced, FUN, and competitive. Has almost all the things the Battlefield series has to offer, but in a much better and more fun package. I would wholeheartedly recommend this game over any of the last 2-3 Battlefield games.

This is the type of game where you have to find out what you enjoy, and go enjoy that.
The game offers a large variety of things to do, some might consider them mundane or repetitive but others might find them fum and exciting. It's really up to you what you want to do.
They could include exploring and discovering earth like planets in distant systems where no one has been before or dog fighting and bounty hunting some really tough AI opponents.
If you're really up to the task, you could hunt down players as well.

I was hesitant about buying the game, I did not have such a great experience with Vermintide 2.
I'm glad I was wrong. This game is fun. It has some really great moments, and some terribly infuriating ones. Either way, it'll make you come back for more. So far I've sunk 45 hours in the last two weeks playing this game to a total of 49. I can easily sink another 49, and then some.

Completely worth it!

Not a game for me. I really tried to like it but it became boring quick. It's very repetitive, no real tasks to accomplish besides the "main" and only mission. Get resources, build base, colonize another planet/moon for resources your home planet is missing.

That's it. There is no element of danger or survival. It's just exploration, which gets dull as well. The environment on each planet never changes. There are no diverse biomes to see. There are caves, but nothing too special about them.

My biggest gripe is that you have to go to other planets to get specific resources. That's great in theory but the shuttle you take has a very finite amount of space. I would much rather have different biomes setup on each planet and have all resources available on one planet but in different locations. Gasses can be at different elevations, so can the ores. They can have their own challenges in being gathered. Otherwise players are forced to have multiple large bases instead of one main base and the rest being satellite bases. That's a HUGE and unneeded time sink.

The art style and mechanics were really nice, they personally appeal to me. You could customize your base and transportation in many different ways. For me, that's not enough to keep playing the game.

I got the game on sale for $19.99 and got 19 hours of game play out of it... a dollar an hour is all I was able to last through.

When playing, please keep in mind that this is early access and there are bugs.

Aside from that, this game is great! It's been a while since I felt my heart beat so hard in intense moments.

This game will cause sweaty armpits and trembling fingers. Also a lot of cursing....a lot.

Like several people before me, I was compelled to write a review about this game solely because of the way the game is being re-sold.

The gameplay, while glitchy and sometimes not optimized, is a lot of fun. You're building a base and defending it against zombies. Location matters, and so do the people that are in your camp. Overall, the game is a LOT of fun.

The negative review is all about how the patching for this game stopped and was instead rebranded as a Game of the Year edition, so it can be sold again. The people that purchased this game on release are geting the shaft and being forced to pay twice for the content they already own.

This is NOT the way to do business or how a company should behave if they want to retain their playerbase.

This game tugs at my characters and my heartstrings alike.
Your characters need to survive, but to survive you need to rob an old couple of their medicine, dooming them in the process.

This sends the character that did the looting into a crazy tailspin of regret and depression, deeper than I have ever seen in any other game. There are serious consequences to your actions. Consequences that can stop your team from performing any tasks at all, and simply dying of starvation or even grief.

The world that is presented is beautiful and dreadful at the same time. The art stile is phenomenal and really captures the essence of a population being caught in a war. The music and sound affects send your mind to the place that your eyes are seing with the emotional depth as if you were really there. The background gunfire and explosions from bombardments are too real.

This game is small, but very powerful. It can be replayed an infinite amount of times and each time may be different from the last.

This game will mess with you to the core of your being. You will learn to about trust, loyalty, friendship, and backstabbing all in the first 10 minutes of the game.

It will mess with your emotions and rob you of any dignity you thought you had. While playing this game, paranoia will rule over you as you crouch around trees and bushes trying to listen for sounds of bears, or worse, enemy players.
