Pretty confidently my favorite game of all time. Not the best game ever. But my favorite. The atmosphere is cohesive, and oddly beautiful. The music is simply perfect. The story is confusing to most, but I appreciate it for what it is. The mechanics feel solid, from melee to gunplay to climbing.

Most importantly, it set a gold standard for interactivity. You can touch just about everything. If it looks like you could pick it up and throw it, you can. It sounds so basic, yet many games still don't do this. Sure, not every game needs it. Sometimes it's fine if your swords phase through each other. But there's something special about pressing them together and seeing the resistance. Small bits of interactivity make a world of difference in VR.

I find myself comparing every VR game I play to Boneworks. Including its successor Bonelab, which I enjoy, but feel it unfortunately faltered in many ways. Much of Bonelab's value comes from modding. This game holds up on its own, over half a decade later. It's absolutely worth a playthrough, if you have your VR legs already.
