To say I would recommend this game to others wouldn't quite be correct, though I really do like it a lot.

It's a solid experience that, truthfully, demands far too much of your time to get the story across. 100% completion of anomalies among other things is required to complete the story, and whilst thematically appropriate in how the story integrates the game mechanics through which you achieve it, getting to that point is honestly just suffering, regardless of how competent you are at the game.

I was not willing to sit through 100% completion truly because the gameplay just eventually became quite grating, and instead chose to watch the cutscenes I missed out on by not spending another 25-50 hours playing. My only other gripes are the few minor bugs that will never be fixed, and my initial aversion to how the UI is presented.

With that being said, I would strongly recommend this game to anyone that isn't averse to punishing strategy games. Hell, maybe even if you don't, if you like the SCP Foundation perhaps you should board this wild ride of wasting 15 minutes at a time due to misclicks and lapses of judgement.

Look at the cute rabbit women. Now perish.

You get to deal with all the recurring FFXIV raid mechanics that get you seething, bullet hell shenanigans to dunk on you, and to top it off rogue-lite elements to make you occasionally miserable when you can't make any synergies!

Absolutely worth playing, and is possibly the perfect game to hop on with your old raiding pals that just couldn't commit to gearing and playing at a set time every week.

I genuinely do not think there is a release I have ever been more disappointed in.

Fool me once with DoW3, fool me twice with AoE4's lack of content on release, but this?
Your own flagship series? Really?

Don't worry though, they managed to monetise skins ON A £50 GAME BEFORE A REPLAY SYSTEM IN AN RTS GAME.

Whatever trust was remaining is no longer. I can only hope Frost Giant knows what they are doing or this genre is well and truly done for.

What you have here is an obvious Vampire Survivors clone that goes beyond and provides a cast of characters that have unique passive talents that, community jokes for streamers aside, provides more interesting and varied approaches to itemisation and the game play that comes along with that. You can even raise stream moderators like livestock for passive income.

I generally do not care for streamers in general, but still have found I'm getting a lot out of this game even whilst having played multiple similar games. For the grand price of free, I cannot possibly complain.

Genuinely enthralling, easy to pick up and intuitive. For the price, it's absolutely worth it.

A gruelling ice age city builder in which you must survive at any cost. What do you do to adapt? What will your attempt at civilisation become?

While I don't think it quite achieves it's goals of exploring the latter in a way that leaves any impact aside from a few options, it certainly offers up a very challenging, competent survival city building experience.

If that sounds like something you'd like, absolutely go for it.

In this game you get to:
-harvest organs
-sell people into slavery
-see a colonist go into a psychotic rage once a fortnight
-be eviscerated by our insect overlords

it's just about all I've ever wanted

Early Access Review
Genuinely the closest thing to exist to the game I've always wanted to make.

A somewhat fast-paced rogue-lite which sees you speed around environments, killing the (extremely lethal) local wildlife, finding loot, and powering up the teleporter and fighting bosses so you can do it all over again. The maps themselves are the exact same but their contents and positions are not. The game gets progressively more difficult as you get progressively more powerful, and the game becomes about staying ahead of the curve by not wasting time.

The characters are all quite unique, and satisfying to play. The music is fantastic, and the enemy design and variation is interesting enough for the game to not feel stale whilst feeling (for the most part) quite fair.

It's as enjoyable to play on your own as it is with friends. Even in it's early access state with no current end to the game, it's as solid a recommendation as you would get from me. Worth buying even if it's not on sale (and the price is going to go up once it's out of early access).
