A perfect re-representation of the classic Half-Life if it was made in modern day. This game is amazing. It stays true to the feel and way that the original Half-Life felt, but also introduces some very amazing changes and updates that were sorely missed in the original. You must play this game for yourself, to see how good it is. Play it for 2 hours, and if you don't find yourself completely hooked and passing the 2 hour mark EASILY, then go ahead and refund it. But I doubt that you will once you have tried it.

Early Access Review
This game is an absolute masterpiece. It's like if you took Sons of the Forest, Breathedge, and Half-Life 1 and put them altogether. It's such a thrill to go explore the halls of the facility, unsure what may lie around the next corner, while you manage your resources like food, water, sleep, bathroom needs, and more. Play with at least 1 other person, that's what I've done, and it has been an absolute blast. Highly recommend you check this one out from a bunch of beautiful people from New Zealand.

This game is an absolute gem, and should be enjoyed by everyone. If you haven't treated yourself to this game yet, you should. Like right now. It isn't even that expensive, and it's boatloads of fun. The precursor to Helldivers 2, one of the best games of recent history. A cult classic.

EDIT: In an effort to restore the good name of Arrowhead Studios, I am making my review a positive one, since most of the issues related to this beautiful game is not their fault but, indeed, Sony's fault. Sony is a terrible publisher/corporation. Arrowhead Studios is full of wonderfully amazing people who work their butt off to make one of the best games I've played in recent history. BECOME A LEGEND, BECOME A HERO, BECOME... A HELLDIVER!

For Democracy! For Liberty! For Freedom! Join today, and help protect Super Earth, and Managed Democracy. All that aside, this game is one of the most buggy games I've played in recent history, and I love every second of it. I will recommend this game when they fix the fact that always online ruins large parts of this game, when this game is a literal masterpiece.

Patch 1.15 is like getting Christmas early this year. Hunt has never been better. Jump in, enjoy the event, and the amazing changes they brought.

**EDIT**

In honor of the Director's Take from August 18th, 2023, taking a swing at reviewers for "mostly not recommending the game for the cancelled PvE component," I would like to take the time to detail the many other reasons why this game should not be supported anymore. The monetization for this game is horrific compared to OW1 where that game had LITERAL LOOTBOXES that felt better than this game's monetization system. Then there is the Season content with terrible Battle Passes, pretty much no new content to be heard of in terms of actual gameplay stuff (I.E new maps, new game modes, or any sort of progression whatsoever) except some crappy events here and there that have some FOMO skins (some of which are just releases of older event skins) or stupid filler garbage (this is explained down below in the next part) that shouldn't even be a part of the game anymore after the removal of loot boxes. For example, it makes sense to have filler stuff when you have a loot box system so that every loot box opened isn't guaranteed to have "good valued" items in it everytime, but when you move away from that system, those fillers become even more unnecessary and frankly insulting. Examples of fillers are Sprays, Weapon Charms, Player Avatars, and a multitude of other useless garbage that players aren't ACTUALLY looking forward to getting when they buy any bundle or do some event. Skins are what people like and are truly after, at least when it comes to monetized content. Another thing that is terrible about OW2 is releasing heroes for MONEY (yes albeit they become available to unlock later on for free, the fact that there is a period of time where they are effectually unavailable is unacceptable). In OW1, it never costed anything for a new hero, even with the initial cost of buying the game factored in, especially when you could easily of picked up the game on sale or on a grey key website for very cheap. So them saying the initial cost of purchasing the game was covering new hero development enough to not charge anything for them, is a bold faced lie. Everything about this game is just a slap in the face to the average video game consumer nowadays. Nothing this game offers is worth a quarter of what they ask for it. Greedy company, greedy monetization, terrible game design. As a friend of mine said in a review of theirs, and I will now add to mine, "The Blizzard of my childhood is dead", and I will add to it: This game is a mockery of what was and what could of been.

(Old review left below for posterity.)

Blizzard said they aren't doing the ACTUAL PvE that this game was literally suppose to exist for, and instead asked for more money for half baked cash grab garbage. So I'm not doing the ACTUAL positive review for this game like I was sure I was going to, if the PvE actually existed.

Amazing game that can be played for free, or very cheap (like the Starter Pack alone brings so much value for so little) and enjoyed in multiple facets/gamemodes/PvE, PvP, or PvPvE. The only thing about this game that is TERRIBLE is the community. Because it's a free to play game, little Timmy gets on Daddy's steam account and loads up this game, and plays like the age that he is. Doesn't listen to directions, doesn't play with the team, and on the occasion they do actually read the chat, they flame you and the rest of the team and start to troll/teamkill/whine. The game itself is extremely fun, and very easy to play for free, don't listen to the weekend warriors and Timmies that don't have Mommy's credit card that say the game is pay to win, it really is not. One could argue that the monetization for the game is so poor that spending excessive money is actually just wasteful, compared to smart spending and just straight up playing the game. Don't trust anything I've said in this review? Download and try it yourself, you will be pleasantly amazed. And if you don't like it. no harm, no foul, uninstall it and move on.

If you haven't played a Fatshark game before (i.e. Vermintide I & Vermintide II) then you won't enjoy this game and don't bother. With that out of the way, this game is fantastic, but definitely distinctly it's own game. It is, in fact, NOT just "Vermintide with Guns." If it was Vermintide with guns, it would have healing that is tied to an item, instead of a central healing station, No Toughness system, Not every class would have access to ranged weapons (that actually feel like they can clear things at range effectively, like in Vermintide where only the specific classes that were "Ranged Careers" could actually deal with ranged specials.) The soundtrack is what someone should expect from a Warhammer 40k game, which is to say angelic, amazing, and energetic. The visuals are also very much Warhammer 40k aesthetic. Grim, Dark, and Gritty. Nothing more to say than, if you like Vermintide, get this game, but with the caveat that it is it's own game and not Vermintide.

Frame Data should be apart of the base game and base menus when looking at combos. No excuses.
