Played on Steam Deck, Saw comments that the game doesn't run well at all on Steam Deck. If you turn settings down to Low, it runs surprisingly well. No crashes, the only real lag and stutter I saw was in cutscenes. For a game with no current Steam Deck support, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Just to add an edit here. I have the FPS locked at 60, and graphics turned down to Low. That makes the game run relatively smoothly.

Major improvement from the first game. While it's obviously missing plenty of units and workshop from the first along with the ability to speed up battles, the game is in early access and the new features and improvements that do exist more than make up for this. The game is much more optimized and the units seem more...fluid? Speaking of fluid, the new liquid physics is a neat feature. Obviously it's janky but I'm playing a battle simulator, not AC Black Flag or Sea of Thieves. It is missing some helpful features like seeing the stats of units before fights (so you don't waste time creating a lopsided fight).

I was confused as to why it took so long for the developers to finish the Xen levels. But then I played through the game again and reached the Xen and i understood why. The amount of care and intricate details put into level design is amazing! From the puzzles to the combat to the music...its all so well done. Xen is breathtaking as well.

Yeah sure the jumpscares make me freak out BUT the atmosphere alone already has me at the edge of my seat. This is horror done right.

Its funny, ive replayed this game twice and still get freaked out at parts that I expect to happen. This game takes horror to the next level in the Resident Evil franchise. Most characters are beautifully written besides your own character (who came off pretty bland but that might be because hes basically the only sane one). It stays true to classic Resident Evil games with needing to manage your inventory, crafting items and dealing with ammo scarcity. The puzzles are kinda lackluster and most are pretty obvious on how to solve but the game makes up for that with every room in the game serving some type of purpose. Overall id give it a 8/10.

The game is redeeming itself by removing the loot box store. A dumb idea to begin with but the store itself only gave you good minions and items which the game can be beat without. Regardless, my main annoyance with the first game was its lack of a diverse setting. It was just wide open land with orc camps here or there and some forts. Not much unique about in. BUT the sequel is like night and day. Im not a big LotR fan so excuse my knowledge on the lore but the game has the huge Gondor castle, a nice jungle place, I hate snow environments but its got one, badass volcano wasteland and more. Also the nemesis system is improved or whatever.

Well atleast Scorn is coming out this year
