The game is faithful to the original and has been made with nice additions. But I expected it to be dodge mechanics. Those who will play for the first time may get bored in the middle of the game, but it becomes exciting again towards the end. The game conveys the reactionary atmosphere and the feeling of loneliness in space very well. Buy at sale.

Score: 8/10

To add to what Jakkar said, the keyest point of ruin the devs put towards this butchered remake is going from a protagonist that is near fully silent so you can insert yourself into the atmosphere, into one that never shuts up and goes far and beyond any level of dialogue in the third installment in the series which itself is known as a rather horror free experience.

On the contrary, the remake screws up the dialogue, the diegetic cutscenes, the violence, the visual design of the enemies and worst of all makes the Necromorphs sound far weaker, the audio has way less intensity and sheer crazy psychosis to it.

This is not a faithful remake - it was put together by people who didn't really care about the most powerful qualities of the original game's atmosphere.

Anyone interested in Dead Space should try to play the original, which still holds up well.
