Kinda frustrating to play.

The game bombards you with notifications every 10 seconds, which stop the game and you have to click through them just to be hit by another wave of them.

Generally not really fun.

Short but fun puzzle game! Gets pretty difficult at segments, but is overall a good balance between fun and challenging, ontop of the brilliant art in between the stages of the puzzles

Genuine masterpiece, although it has it's jank and flaws, it paved the way to one of the most interesting genres of games to exist in the current day, and vastly improves on it's previous title, Demon Souls.

Definitely overhated, most criticism comes from the gank squads in the game due to horrible enemy placement, which does exist, but this version of the game is made to be more difficult. Base dark souls 2 does not have that problem, if you're playing DS2 for the first time, it's recommended to play that first before Scholar. Scholar is like a bonus hard mode
