This remake is by far the best one so far in the franchise!!
I've sunk easily 1000 hrs into the original on Wii and other consoles in the past and this remake is *chefs kiss*. The story is gripping and exhilarating, there is tons of fun interactions with enemies and its still terrifying to this day (I'm look at you Iron Maidens) I highly recommend this game to all wanting to purchase it, well worth the money!
The remake actually delves deeper than the original and adds cut scenes which give more insight to events in the game, the side characters feel more fleshed out and show a stronger emotional connection to Leon.
The combat is immaculate, it feels like the original without the "clunkiness". They kept in all the original Easter Eggs and really gave a good homage to the original! It is still hard and makes it feel helpless with the endless hordes of Las Plagas at times, making it even more rewarding when you proceed to the next section! I love the crafting function in the game, it really shows how resourceful and efficient Leon can be in desperate times! It's also very rewarding mowing down a pack of mindless humanoid monsters. One of my favourite aspects is when you're trapped and need to barricade the building to prevent them from coming in (literally so nerve racking fighting for your life).
Ashley has better commands now to help make her hide/ stay closer to Leon, making it a lot better to run through areas without having to wait on her or rescue her from the villagers clammy clutches!
The bosses re-imagined gave them more of a gritty and visceral element, and some even have an entirely different fight which is better suited for modern consumption, making it far more palatable for new players, I love what they did in this department, it made me really fall in love again with the game seeing how much effort and detail went into every aspect.
I look forward to the mercenaries DLC that will be coming soon, those time trails playing as Hunk and other RE characters really adds charm to the games dynamic, I'll be glued to my PC once they come out!
I can't wait for the next remake!

This game is an EASY 10/10, I cant wait to sink another 1000 hrs into this one and 100% it!
Time to play through it again on Professional mode! >:D
