Decent old-school survival horror. Haven't played the original.

However:
- It's very short.
- The movement and combat restrictions feel artificial and hindering. It's the easy way of increasing difficulty and it takes the "spectacular" out of the actual game-play. No jumping, no sprinting, not zombie head bashing or cool killing moves. Ironically, they took the time to make and implement an animation of shoving off dead zombies that might fall on you.

Quality wise it would deserve a positive rating, as it is above average from various points of view, but quantity wise...it's almost insulting. The price is double the game's worth.

Long and boring as an abstinence day. There's a lot of value to it in terms of story content, but as a game it's just not fun.

Pros:
- Presents a new and interesting face of war.
- Has replay value.

Cons:
- Very poor balance between the story pacing and the game's format.
- Some restrictive game-play mechanics that don't really make sense, meant to keep you longer on the story path.

This one gets a positive rating only as part of the main game, which is brilliant, but honestly...I just wanted it to end already since I was only half way in.

The "Stories" DLC is exactly that: stories. It is not expanding on the base game's features, but just delivers specific linear stories to experience.

Out of all three, this one is the best. A surprisingly amazing experience.

There is no replay value, but that's not the point. The base game provides that in abundance.

Pros:
- better than a FPS with Star Wars coating;
- good graphics, mechanics and acting;

Cons:
- just an action-platformer with puzzles; you experience the Star Wars universe like looking through the window of a train and all you get to see from that fascinating world is...caves after caves after caves;
- customization options are kind of a joke; just skins - recolors of the same stuff;
- the story is just background; no active relationship between characters, no depth...just generic jedi stuff.

It's not a bad game, but it got boring enough for me to uninstall it before finishing it. It's as simple as that. If you enjoy action-platformers, it's ok, but I recommend getting it on sale.

It definitely scratches that old school RPG itch, if you have it.

However, other than that, everything is average, dated and constantly verging on boring.

Very good, even though a tad overpriced. But considering the atrocious lack of true quality on today's gaming market, I'll take it.

Pros:
- Very immersive experience.
- Decent story.
- Great storytelling, focused on the relationship between the main two protagonists.
- Good graphics and animations.
- Fluid game-play mechanics.
- Decent character development. I really like the fact they kept the main protagonist's evolution within believable limits at all times. You'll develop her gear and knowledge, making her more lethal by being wittier instead of stronger. Would've been awkward to see her lifting huge swords and cutting heads off.
- Well implemented crafting mechanics, giving you a feeling of always being on your toes, even if the resources are plentiful.
- Good balance for game-play difficulty, keeping you active without becoming tedious or interfering with the experience of the story (note: for Dark Souls or Sekiro fans it will however feel like a walk in the park, so consider yourselves warned).
- It's definitely not one big escort mission. Your companion will never get in your way and will actually be useful on various occasions.

Cons (but not deterrents):
- Most times the game-play feels almost on rails: one room - one puzzle - one solution. You only get to put your creativity to work when you need to take out groups of enemies, which is very rare (another warning here: the game-play actually consists in environmental puzzles, and the "combat" falls pretty much under the same category).
- Not much exploration to be done off the main path. You have some rare loot pockets on the map and some predefined events, but that's it.
- Some redundant skills (enough to be worth mentioning though).
- Fairly frequent FPS drops. They didn't hinder my game-play though.
- NO REPLAY VALUE.

Well, that's about it. One more thing worth mentioning: I was very reluctant I'd enjoy a game having two kids as main protagonists, but I ended up truly connecting to them and even getting that badas* feeling on many occasions (yes, for both of them).

Avalanche definitely knows how to make spectacular game mechanics and beautiful worlds.

Unfortunately, they ain't got no idea how to make'em worlds interesting or write a story (I wanted to say a "good" story, but they ain't nowhere near that term).

So it's all a wonderful looking show with no meat on its bones when in comes to content.

Positive rating because what's good about it, is exquisite (same goes for the bad):
- gorgeous graphics, even 4 years after;
- visceral and very satisfying combat, driving and car combat;
- makes a shotgun actually useful.
