I'm not a fan of obsidian,never play pillar of eternity or any other obsidian game, except outer world which i only played for 4 hrs and quit. Avowed is a fantansy RPG with world building and story driven dream come true! The last such game i played was AC odessey and witcher 3 which etched a good memory impact on me.
Avowed story is well done with alot of question mark while u play which makes u want to find out more about what will happen next. The decision in u made in both side quest and main also impact the world.
Combat is super fun with impactful. Mage skill effect is done just right with just the right amount of colorful effects that is not overdone. The skill tree system have so much build variety. Its a very deep RPG.
Lastly, the most insane part, the exploration! it is super extremely deep and fun and rewarding. Its not fully open world, but the area is very big. It's good they make it not full open world so that the exploration is not filled with fillers. The town feels so alive, NPC each have their own story to tell as u explore. Finding good gear as u explore is so fun and rewarding.
