This game is still great. People are blowing up about the 6.7.0 patch because it did exactly what people have been begging for: It changed the meta. The devs have responded to major issues in the game and resolved them, and have made other changes to test the waters.

The healing change, while controversial, is showing their willingness to step beyond a comfort zone and actually make changes that they are typically very afraid of doing.

A lot (and by that I mean maybe a dozen or so players who are far too dramatic) of players are blowing up about specific changes, such as the Doom and Death Engravings changes to the Hillbilly. People will call these changes anything from destroying the most fun character/playstyle to kicking someone while they're down. I'm more leaning into a third category, where the devteam actually did something right. They saw a build they encouraged a playstyle they disliked (because it was dreadful for survivors) and made it significantly worse.

This same ideology applies to the healing changes. They saw something they disliked, and changed it. This patch marks a spot of BHVR actually caring about their game and how people play it in a new way. They are clearly more willing to step out of their comfortable box and make changes that will get people up in arms. None of this stuff is set in stone, and BHVR will tweak and learn from this experience.

This game has many flaws, but the trend is upward, at the end of the day.
