I spent 40$ on this dlc package, and it doesnt even want to load. ive uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, restarted steam, restarted my pc, turned off every dlc and restarted my pc, started a new game and quit it, and even let my computer be turned off for a solid 2 hours. Nothing worked to make this actually download. Steam says i own it. The 2k launcher says i own it. Civ 6 is aparantly blind as hell and refuses to realize i own it.

Please fix this, i want to play the thing i paid 40$ on.

It just isnt fun. i know some people would like to sit around and optimizing real-time colonial economics and financing a fleet of ships fully manned with sailors, but...for me? its just not fun. if you like this stuff good for you, but its not for me.

its a fairly decent game, although its much more rng-based than it should be for a colonizing game;all the breakthroughs are fully random,so some of the actually good stuff you most likely will never get in several playthoughs and will instead get things that are technically "useful",like soylent green, but are overall not at all good compared to oval/diamond domes, project phoenix, and the two breakthroughs that give free maintenence-free pipes and wires. most of the available sponsors/colony managers are somewhat acceptable, but unless you're achivement hunting or doing memelord challenged (new ark, oligarch, last ark, hunger, inflation, max disasters) you're most likely going to stick with international mars mission and inventor. as for the dlcs...i havent really gotten any due to them seeming like they just add more challenge;the one with other sponsors just makes it so you get less bonuses and also need to add martian diplomacy into the mix (especially as one of the rival colonies nukes mars and sends weaponized rovers after you),laika just adds pets and an additional food source that needs people to work in,and green mars adds in acid rain storms and multiple ways to waste your reasorces to try and make mars earthlike. all in all,its...in dire need of actual work. specifically in the form of updates, not dlc.

its...honestly not good. sure,it looks pretty and has awesome customizable stuff, but you're going to spend your time listening to vaguely different music tracts while constantly in debt and selling your minerals/food to the market so you dont go bankrupt (oh,and by the way,the more you sell, the less you get,so have fun getting less and less money). the different species templetes (reptillian, humanoid, avian, ect) are nice but most of them aside from the humanoid ones have little to no settings (color palette 1,2,3,4. clothing 1,2,3,4. background 1-18.),and you cant even build half the stuff you research because you either dont have enough population on a planet, you dont have the materials,or you dont have the right combonation of government and ethics and whatnot. imean...sure,you MIGHT like it if you're really obsessive with ordering everybody and everything randing from planets and starts to a worker named Todd building yet anothwr battleship you set to autocomplete because the ship building section is utterly hideous and doesnt tell you anything about the stat changes. but unless you really love micromanaging,i reccomend not getting this.

side note: the fact that most of the classic "space empire galaxy story saga deluxe" cliche stuff (robot lands, one mind people, plant people, giant wonders, ect) are locked behind paywalls and dlc is kinda a messed up thing to do,even for Paradox...especially because they tease you with the "plantoid" section of naming lists if you dont own that species dlc.

its a good addition for the civ family. while i was a bit sceptical about the sutrvivability of it and the new look,i honestly feel like its actualy better than civ V,graphics wise atlease(of course,i cant play the game without a ♥♥♥♥ ton of lag without graphics on the lowest non-stagnent setting, and the leaders' hair usualy looks pretty wierd, especialy Jadwiga's). i feel like a few of the DLC coulda been grouped up together(the Viking DLC and Poland;Austrailia with the Khemer-Indonesia dlc;Nubia with the Alex 'i hate you because you just wrapped up a war and hate you more because you took them over completly' ander and Cyrus) and sold at a slightly less irkish price, and that most of the time the leaders are more or less predictable(Teddy likes me almost always,Gilgamesh loves teaming up aganst litteraly anybody,China's leader hates you regardless) and in some cases straight up lie to you (Alexander hates you when you're not at war, then basicly waits until you're done with a long war to tell you 'you're not at war! why you no fight for people!';Ghandi hates warmongoes, then declares war on you himself when you repel sombody trying to invade you). i have a list of things that could probobly make the game not as,well, predictable and such.
-more random adgendas
-war penalties -65% for being declared war upon
-Cartography not able to be rushed to from the classical era
-no dead end techs(the TECH tree, not CIVIC tree)
-Aquaduct provides food aside from the housing+water bonus, and has a building or two to make it not essentialy dead land

finnaly, the thing i think is most important-MORE DAMN LEADERS TO THE CIVS THAT STILL EXIST.
they kinda promised to have civilizations with multiple leaders, and so far the only non-modded ones are Gorgo and Perciles, and both of them, frankly, suck.

but ignoring all of that, this is a fairly nice, polished, playable game. hopefuly it gets some good expantion packs with new concepts and such(like what G+K-religion- and BNW-espionage+ideology+trade routes- did for civ V) soon, and more than Beyond Earth did.
______________________________________________________________________________
EDIT:
ok. so,i played it after i got the new DLC and update.
-i can no longer send delgates and embasies to other civs.
-i can no longer ask for trade or denounce other civs.
-the AI tend to denounce everybody in the first 30 turns of meeting.
-the AI will not build religious units.
-the AI,when on a coastal start, will CONSTANTLY SPAM SHIPS.
-the new wonder(Ankor Wat) crashes my game when i build it next to water.

now,i like civ and all...
...but when you introduce new stuff in a DLC(and sequel for the matter!),the newest update should NOT make the game less playable. im just glad there arnt any more probolems with it,and i hope that Firaxix/2K/whoever can fix these problems asap.

its a good game and all...but...

i cant get mods for it anymore.

imean, sure,i can go onto bethesda and do all that account stuff, but the mods i WANT are not there. i want specific mods that i can only currently find on the steam workshop for the ORIGINAL skyrim, not SPECIAL EDITION skyrim.

honestly,this is a VERY good game:good design,funny glitches,memorable characters,ect. ect. ect.
but you need to mod it at some point or else it's no longer fun,and you wind up using Tdetect to freely murder every citizen in the game.

i just wish icould find the mods i want for it...either that,or bethesda needs to make it have steam workshop support again.

It's not as good as most other civ games you could get,but its WAY better that rev II. the gameplay is acceptable, but the AI is,frankly, horrible. its a decent game, but you should only really get it if A)you're a huge civ fan and/or B)you like star wars/trek.
