Substantially more historically accurate than that other game about Yasuke, even the AI music is more historically accurate.
My only critiques are that Yasuke doesn't use his traditional homeboy sights, or say any of his VERY historically accurate quotes that are highly documented, like "We WaZ KaNgZ" or similar.

Worth mentioning that it's less than 1/10th the asking price of the other (inaccurate) Yasuke game, but at LEAST 400% better quality and accuracy.

If you find any of this offensive in any way you are a bigot.

I don't get the recent negative reviews, the common theme seems to be "I beat all the previous games 900hrs SL1 nude using only some dried out noodles I found on my my cheetos graveyard of a desk, I'm not a good souls player (humblebrag), but this DLC was ♥♥♥♥".

Reading most of the critiques that have any substance to them, it sounds like the Souls-is-my-identity types actually hit a difficulty wall in this DLC and need to git gud.

DLC is awesome.

There's some great QoL in this one, all the weapons feel pretty good to use, and there's good monster variety.
I've had a couple of frame drops around season changes, but even with the High Res textures and everything on Ultra it's running perfectly for me otherwise on a 9800X3D/4080.

Update 2:
Nevermind, after about 4 hours it locked up my PC and I had to hard reset it again.

Update 1:
Recent patching seems to have fixed the PC lockup issue for me, so back to this being the gold standard ARPG again.

Original Review below:

The game is great, when it works.
No matter what renderer I use the game will randomly lock up my entire PC and partially shuts off my AIO and USB. Until they fix that, can't recommend.

Specs: 9800x3d, 64gb DDR5 @6000mhz, 4080 (566.36).

It's a simulator game, in the same format as most of the others, but with a TCG built in.

Now that I've completed the story (1/3) and 80% completed the achievements, there are some bugs, especially towards the end of the story, so I'd suggest the old classic of save often, even just quicksaves.

I opted for modding about 8 hours in to add modular hard mode and a few other tweaks, like mutant loot and so on, aiming to keep a mostly vanilla experience other than adding some difficulty. The only issue I found is that even at endgame, enemies are dropping regular ammo and you really need to be using AP at that point.

The story itself and the game throughout were awesome, and I had no fps issues on a 4080@3440x1440, 9800x3d@5.4ghz, 128Gb DDR5 with DLSS on. Also tried FSR and found it a little sharper, but didn't like it as much as DLSS, so went back.

Don't die out there Stalker....

It's a shame this was locked to the garbage EGS system for a year, but overall the game on Steam has been better received because of that.

Really a surprising mix of rogue-like FPS and a bit of souls-like challenge. I've been talking about this game to a few people and only have positive things to say about it. The gun-play feels good, the weapons all have their own style and different handling, the enemies, while not a huge variety, require slightly different handling depending on your weapons and the spells aren't underwhelming considering you have GUNS.

It's the sort of game I've always been curious to see in Coop, but works as a SP experience, but maybe one day...
