Black Myth: Wukong

was one of the Games that has shown a lot, that you cant trust those self-proclaimed Game-Journalists and lead to a lot of Controversy in the Year 2024, but it came out fine and also garnered a large Playerbase right away on its Launch-Day and even after that, gathering Record-Numbers.

As Player you take control of the Protagonist, only known as “the Monkey” to venture out into the World of Chinese Folklore and Mythology to reclaim the relics of the Legend “Wukong”.
On your Journey you are equipped with your trusty combat staff and unlock a lot of different Skills and Spells that can be switched at any shrine, resting place, to boost the abilities that suit you best.
In Third-Person Dynamic-Action-Combat Style you will be lead through a lot of Chinese Mythology influenced Areas with various Monsters, Enemies and Bosses you will have to fight against.

The Games best Part is the way how it portray Chinese Mythology and how it brings Creatures of said Mythology into the digital Space of Gaming.
The Story Elements are also nice and well made, but a bit confusing when People are missing out on Key-Elements like specific Items and Characters.

The major Part of the Game is, exploring different Areas that get unlocked after defeating the Major-Boss in said Areas, and can still be explored later on with fast Travel to uncover even more Secrets and Challenges.
Also the different Abilities are nice to use and combine and recombine over and over to try different strategies and tactics against different Bosses.

But sadly there are also some negative Aspects in this Game, having a lot to do with World-Building (technical). There are a lot of ways and places that just invite Players to be explored until… Player gets stopped by an invisible Wall that will then lead to either not letting the Player jump up or down or go further out. And this happens a lot in each Map.
It would have been nice if the Developers would have payed a bit more attention to that detail and covered the ways that Players should not take with more logical blockages.

Still I recommend this Game to every Person that likes Games with challenging Bossfights and tactical and strategic usage of Skills instead of to many Weapons in Inventory.
---------------------------------
The Points i give this Game: (Average 7,4 / 10)
8 / 10 Grafics (Very good graphics in Design of Environment and Creatures)
7,8 / 10 Art-Style (The portrayal of Chinese Mythology is well implementet and reflected in this Game)
6 / 10 Atmosphere (The Environments are sometimes more confusing than immersive)
7,2 / 10 Gameplay (Its easy to go into the Game with the simple combat, and also allows a variety of Skills to use)
6,2 / 10 Main-Story (Interesting Story, but mostly to just push the Player forward rather then taking the player with it)
5,8 / 10 Side-Story (There are some Characters in the Game with their own Questline, but they are easy to miss)
6 / 10 Soundtrack (There are some, but none of them are really memorable)
7 / 10 Performance (There where a few stuttering here and there and one Cutscene froze for a few seconds where the Audio then was unsynch for the rest of the Cutscene, but overall it was running fine and smooth)
9 / 10 Content (The Areas are huge and give the Players a lot to explore)
8 / 10 Enemies (Lots of different Enemies and unique to each Area in the Game)
10 / 10 Bossfights (So many Bossfights, really enjoyable for People who like Bossfights in Games.)

Starfield

is a very interesting made Sci-Fi Game with lots of Planets, Questlines and Characters to visit. Players are not just able to jump from one System to the next, they are also given the chance to build and fly their own Space-Ship and assign recruited Crew-Members to it and take one of them as companion to all of the adventures and combats that are ahead.
And if that is not enough it also offers an Outpost-System for those who want to make their own little Intergalactic Material-gathering empire with automatic supply lines via Transportships.

The Game’s strength is clearly its high variety of Quests that it offers and that it does not force the Player to do them in specific Order. Like in previous Bethesda-Games its up to the Player in which direction the adventure will go and which Parts of the Universe to be explored. It also offers different Play-Styles and Weapons to accomplish different outcomes in some of the Adventures.
And it also has implemented interesting Encounters that can happen randomly while flying through space.

The weak Part of the Game tho is its instability, where the Developers have delivered lots of Patches but sadly still not entirely fixed the sometimes occurring Game-Crashes. Safing a lot is highly recommended. Also the limits it sets for Ship-Building can be frustrating, cause it does not show them at first and thus are very surprising when trying to build larger Ships but then get interrupted by the pop-up message “Element-Limit reached!”.

I recommend this Game to everyone who likes Space-Ships and Sci-Fi Themed RPGs with lots of Questlines to discover.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 6,77 / 10):
7,4 / 10 Graphic (Solid graphics on lots of the Characters and Environment, but a little lacking when it comes to larger Surfaces)
6 / 10 Art-Style (Some Plants and Creatures have a unique Design, but it gets very repetitive after a while, would have been nice to see larger varieties for Flora and Fauna)
8 / 10 Atmosphere (Great Sci-Fi Atmosphere and very entertaining in Space-Combat, as specially in some Questlines)
7,8 / 10 Gameplay (Easy to go into type of Gameplay. But the Lock-Picking is not ok and annoying after just a few locks.)
6,2 / 10 Main-Story (Typical for Bethesda-Games, the Main-Story is not so well as it could have been and some Elements in that Story dont make much sense.)
8,2 / 10 Side-Story (The Side-Stories are really well implemented and offer much more unique Elements for the Game as a whole. As specially the unique Characters that can be met in those Side-Stories feel special compared to regular NPCs.)
6,8 / 10 Characters (Lots of Characters to met in that Universe, but sometimes a little over the Top Biography-like Dialogues with them. And annoying when they always talk more about their Love-Life rather than what they expect to be done in the Quest.)
7,5 / 10 Soundtracks (The Soundtracks are good, but sadly the variety for such a large Universe is not enough and thus some Tracks get repetitive after a few combats)
3 / 10 Major-Bugs (Random crashes that can occur at any moment in the Game. Sometimes Patches made it less frequent and then new patches made it more frequent again. Safing a lot is highly recommended)

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind – Game of the Year Edition

is an old but still nice to play classic from the RPG Genre that gives the Players a huge Freedom to explore the fascinating Island with the Titles same Name Morrowind.
With a high variety of Weapons, Spells and ways to play it leaves the choice up to the Players themselfs if they want to be a Warrior, a Mage, a helpfull Hero or a Thief with lots of Quests and Stories that this Game wants to tell.

The Game’s strong side is its high Focus on actual RPG Elements with which it grants the Players a huge Freedom with which they can decide what Quests they want to do, what Weapons they want to use and in which direction they want to go.
Another Part of this old Classic is its huge World and the well implemented Questlines it offers to keep the Players occupied for Hours (Hint: I played more than 500 Hours with the Non-Steam-Version. If someone wonders why i have not so much on the Steam-Edition. :P)

The sad Part in this Game tho is, that the graphics are no longer up to date and could eventually look horrible to People who are now used to much higher Details and Resolution.
Would be nice if Bethesda would give this classic an overhaul instead of Skyrim!

I recommend this Game to Players who like a good classic Fantasy RPG with lots of Exploration-Potential.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 7,04 / 10):
6 / 10 Graphic (Good for the Time it launched, but out to date for todays Standards.)
7 / 10 Art-Style (The World is cleverly made with the placement of all the Buildings and Dungeons and the interiours and how it gives good vibes of a Fantasy World with all the Armors and Fantasy-Creatures in it)
5 / 10 Atmosphere (The Atmosphere in Quests varies from Main- to Guild- to Sidequests. Some Sidequests dont hype the Atmosphere that much as Main and Guildquests do.)
8,3 / 10 Gameplay (Solid Gameplay for an RPG. Gives a lot of Freedom into the Player’s Hands. A little outdated to in Combat.)
9 / 10 Main-Story (Well made Main-Story, as specially with the Expansions that really drag Players into the world of The Elder Scrolls.)
7 / 10 Side-Story (Interesting Guild-Stories that introduce the Player to different Factions of the Island.)
6,5 / 10 Characters (NPCs feel like Individuals, but sadly after a certain Point they can only repeat what they have already told the Player.)
7,5 / 10 Soundtracks (Good Soundtracks in this Game and as specially the Main-Menue one leaves a Mark)

PS.: I dont know why i havent revewed this Game sooner. It was one of the first big RPGs that i played for loooots of Hours when i didn’t even had a Steam-Account. :P

Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition

is by far one of the best Fantasy RPGs from Bioware. Better described as one of Bioware’s Best.
In typical old fashion, the Player will be lead through a giant and very detailed Gameworld to explore, to interact and to experience Adventures while making decisions that affect various Elements and the Outcome of the Story.

Right at the beginning there is a choice to be made that also has an effect on how the Game will start and how the Player Character gets treated during the Playthrough and furthermore, which Skills a Player can obtain by leveling up after earning EXP in a lot of Combats against Hords of Enemies.
And to fight them, the Game also offers Companions to recruit, to equip, to command during the Adventures and to have dialogues with to learn more about them and their Backstories.

The Game’s absolute strength is definitely on how well it delivers on the Roleplay department and while it surely has a Main-Story the Player has to follow it is still up to them on how to handle the Situation and to be who they want to be. To build their own Character instead of having to *help a specific Person* on their Journey.
Also the Combat is a huge Plus for it to let Players control an entire Team of Companions, but also to set them up so they can act on their own as well if preferred.
And also to mention the huge Fantasy-World that is filled with lots of Story-Elements to explore.

Sadly there are also some weak Spots to mention for this Game and in Dragon Age’s Case its the Moments where the Main-Story has Points of no Return that aren’t so well pointed out during the Adventure. What sometimes can leave the bitter Taste of having to revert back to an older Safe to complete Side-Quests that otherwise would have gone lost.
Also there are some Balancing-Problems with specific Areas and Enemies from Time to Time that can lead to instant-Deaths of Characters in Combats when an Enemy all of a sudden grabs a Party member to kill them via Animation.

I recommend this Game to Players who like a good Fantasy RPG and who also want to explore a huge Gameworld.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 8,46 / 10):
8,2 / 10 Graphic (Old, but for the Time of Release very well made)
8 / 10 Art-Style (Different Locations are well detailed to give a unique vibe to them and have a lot of Assets to be explored)
7,3 / 10 Atmosphere (Major Locations have the perfect Atmosphere for the Story, some Side-Locations tho feel generic)
8,5 / 10 Gameplay (Easy to learn Gameplay. Gives Players a lots of Ways to handle Things, including Combat and the choice of Companions)
9,2 / 10 Main-Story (Definitly the strongest Part of the Game that drives the Motivation over all)
9 / 10 Side-Story (Lots of Side-Stories to explore as well, but some sadly don’t feel so impactfull as others and at some Points of Main-Story progress could get lost if not finished first)
8 / 10 Characters (Many Unique Characters to meet and talk to that really fit perfectly into the Stories)
9,5 / 10 Soundtracks (Well implemented Soundtracks. Soundtracks should always be used to support the Atmosphere of scenes in Games.)

*Info (Ultimate Edition): The exact same Thing as the regular Edition with all DLCs). So no difference for the Review from me. :P

Atlas Fallen

is a Game with a huge Open World and large Areas to run around which Sand-Monsters to fight against with a high variety of switchable Upgrades for a magic Weapon called The Gauntlet.
Fighting Enemies on the Ground or while levitating by using constant attack and air-dash, this Game does not really ask for much when it comes to controls.

The sad thing is, that this Game does not offer much that i would consider remarkable positive.
The Landscape is far to huge and only filled with lots of boring Enemies. And even with Encounters of larger Monsters it gets clear that these are just Bullet-Sponges with even worse, waves of smaller Enemies who either Shield them or Heal them or to just annoy the Player-Character during such Fights.
Also the graphics of the Characters and the Animation feels outdated. The huge Landscapes can not safe the Game from that Flaw.
And the Quest-Design is mostly just NPC XY wants you to hunt down another large Bullet-Sponge Monster. And the Main-Story was not really impressive and in some Moments very weird, almost feels like instead of fleshing it out some Stuff had to be rushed and so to defeat the last Boss was not really special at all.

But the worst Part of the Game was a Bug that lead to my Character dying multiple times. There are some larger Enemies that needed to be defeated in order to progress. As soon as i defeated the larger Enemy, the Game started a Cutscene. The Bug tho left my Character still on the spot with some of the other Enemies still alive and attacking my Character and killing it while being stuck in the Cutscene. At one Point it was so absurd, that after having to pick either restart the fight or load from a manual safe, the restart only sent me into the Cutscene again while enemies killed my Character over and over.
Also the Camera was terrible made, as specially when locking onto a Target and the Camera just freaks out because it was a flying Monster.

I am not willing to recommend this Game, cause it feels more like a Simulator of Student-Projects in which the Goal was only to test some Movement Scripts they have made and the rest not fleshed out enough.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 3,1 / 10):
3,5 / 10 Graphic (Environment seems the only thing where they have put all the effort in. The rest looks like this Game was made years ago.)
3 / 10 Gameplay (Gliding on Sand may sound like fun, but in Practice it was not really a Game-Changer but only just a faster run from Point A to B thing instead of being involved into Combat.)
4 / 10 Story (Boring Story that felt more rushed than fleshed out.)
2 / 10 Characters (Cant remember any of the Characters of the Game, even with the Fact that i have just recently played it. They where not really important for the Game and had no remarkable Character traits.)
5,2 / 10 Combat (At the beginning a little bit Challenging because everything is new, but from the middle to the end just repetitive and boring)
1 / 10 Because of Major Bug (Game can start Cutscene and make Player stuck while still in Combat. Leads to Characters Death and thus having to restart the Fight again)

Alice: Madness Returns

is a really interesting take on the *Alice in Wonderland* World, where Players are not just exploring the wonders of a very weirdly mysterious Environment, but also the deep and unexpected psyche of the Protagonist Alice herself. And how unexpected some of the Plots are.
Fighting foes, solving Puzzles and uncovering the Truth that is hidden behind a dark Web woven by Traumata during her childhood, Players have to help Alice to finish her journey.

And how simple as it is, the more enjoyable it can get, with its easy to learn controls and a simple Combat-System to fight a lot of Enemies and even some Bosses. Also the Levels have a nice touch to the Environmental Themes and Alice’s Clothes change with it.
There are also many interesting Characters inside the Game, some old ones and some new ones Alice is able to talk to and hear their Story of what has happened to them while she was gone and also what has happened to herself in that Time since her last Adventure in the Wonderland.

The Game’s strength is definitely is definitely its Atmosphere and the Art style it uses to establish the Themes of the different Locations the Player has to go through and all the Puzzles and Quests to solve to unlock the Gates to the next Locations.
Also the Combat is nicely implemented in this Game and not to difficult to handle, allows to getting immersed in this fantastic and weirdly freaky looking World and to fall into *Madness* alongside Alice herself.

But there are also some weak points to mention for this Game. The Graphics in the Texture and 3D-Model departement lack a lot of Details and Quality and could need a little bit of overhaul to support the Artistic Style much better.

I recommend this Game to Players who like simple 3D Plattformer sprinkled with simple action Combat and also for those who want to see Alice’s real View of the Wonderland.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 7,41 / 10):
5,2 / 10 Graphic (Old graphhic, would need a little bit improvement)
8 / 10 Art-Style (Well designed World-Build that really support the Themes of the Locations)
9,2 / 10 Atmosphere (Perfect Atmosphere of Madness and depression the Hero-Character has to feel and so the Player too)
6,8 / 10 Gameplay (Easy to learn Gameplay. Plattformer, Puzzles and Combat with Bossfights too)
9,5 / 10 Story (The Story really had some surprising and disturbing Plots. Would like to see the Prequel coming to Steam and a Sequel to continue the Story)
7 / 10 Characters (Lots of Characters known from different Versions of Alice in Wonderland Stories and some new ones too. Nice interactions with them, would have liked to see more of them.)
6,2 / 10 Soundtrack (Soundtracks fit the Environment. The Combat-Sound tho is a little bit to repetitive)

AER – Memories of Old

can be considered as a sort of Flying- and Walking-Simulator, where People are able to explore floating Islands either by foot or from the sky after transforming from human to bird or back.
With some NPCs around to tell which direction to take next, the Story progresses by going to various different Spots and into Dungeons to collect important Key-Fragments for the Final Gate to open.

Sad thing is, that there is not much more to say about *AER*, because it has not a single Element that would qualify it as a Game.
The Dungeons have no Puzzles, only some Trigger to activate while running through them.
The Flying Part sadly does not offer some Parkours, what makes the Bird-Part to nothing more than a weird way to let Players run/fly around.
Also the graphical Aspect is underwhelming. Not only is it low Poly Style, but it also uses Matt Textures and very low Details and while Flying the Distance of view gets Limited by Fog.
It would have been nice if the Developers would have focused at least on that Aspect to offer more for the Eyes if they really wanted it to be just an Exploration-Simulator... or putting some Puzzles, Platform-Challenges and/or Flight Parkours into it.

I am sadly not able to recommend this Game, due to the fact that it does not have Elements that would make it into one.
(Game – a challenge/s a Player has to overcome to reach a goal. AER sadly does not offer any challenges)
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 4,4 / 10):
3 / 10 Graphic (Even for Low-Poly Style, it still could have had much more Details, better Textures and wider Range of View-Distance)
3,8 / 10 Gameplay (Running and Flying around to get a few Story-Elements presented. The Moveset could have been used to implement a lot of challenges, Puzzles or Parkours, but was sadly not used that way.)
6,2 / 10 Story (Story starts off very nicely, but ends appruptly with a lot of open Questions)
4 / 10 Characters (There are a few Characters in the Game, but overall the world feels lifeless)
3,5 / 10 Soundtrack (There are some Soundtracks in the Game, but the variety is not enough and in flight, what is the most Part of the Game, there is one specific track played over and over)
5,9 / 10 Atmosphere (A few Ups and Downs. At the beginning and in the first Temple it gave the impression to become something more, to sadly getting down again by not offering more)

Alien: Isolation

is a very strong Horror-Game with a terrifying Atmosphere and clearly one of the best ones when it comes to the Aspect of delivering it to the Players in almost every Environment it has to offer.
Following the Character with the Name Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley from the Game’s Inspiration Movie-Franchise of *ALIEN*, Players will be put into very dangerous Situations while hoping to survive and to find Information about the whereabouts of the lost Ship Nostromo and its Crew.

Through Vents and corridors and a lot of Locations of an almost abandoned Station it goes, with the constant Pressure of the Presence of a hostile Alien that knows nothing better to do than to hunt Humans and drag them away.
Players have different Options to maneuver from Area to Area by using different Types of Tools to either confuse the Xenomorph or lure it away for a while.
But don’t get fooled yourself, this Enemy cant be killed and will always be a threat to the Protagonists survival and progress.

The Game’s strength is definitely the Atmosphere that gives a constant feeling of Danger due to the Presence of a hunting Alien that does not need to hide or to scare Jump.
In the Game’s Case its the Player who has to hide in order to survive the Encounters and not be seen.
As specially when playing the Game on Nightmare-Difficulty with even more limited Resources and a partly defected Motion-Tracker, Players are able to get the absolute Essence of Horror from the dark and almost completly abandoned Sevastopol-Station and the Journey through this Adventure.

Despite of its great Atmosphere tho, the Game has a weakspot. It is a little bit to short for such an Amazing Environment. It could have done more with a huge Station like it has introduced, but decided to go straight trough the Main-Story.
Not that this is bad, but after finishing it on the highest Difficulty, there is simply nothing new to it.
Still, its a solid Horror-Game experience.

I recommend this Game to Players who like scary Horror Atmospheres in Games and for Fans of the Alien (Xenomorph) Franchise.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 8,56 / 10):
8,9 / 10 Graphic (Amazing graphics and Animations and a lots of Details in each Environment)
8,4 / 10 Gameplay (Game tends to surprise with even more Tools to use from and more dangers to avoid)
7,2 / 10 Story (It has a good Story and well implemented Dialogues, but was a little bit short, could have been far longer Story there.)
8 / 10 Soundtrack (Totally Nostalgia for Fans of the ALIEN Movie. It fits the Atmosphere perfectly)
9 / 10 Enemies (The constant Situation of getting hunted by the Alien really shows in the way it is doing it. Looking around and under and into covers, choosing different paths to not let the Player abuse some patterns. Without that Xeno, the Game wouldn’t be what it is.)
8,4 / 10 Environment (Well made Environment, with a lot of Details, to go through and to try to stay alive in while scavenging for Materials.)
10 / 10 ALIEN-Franchise worthy (This Game is clearly the best Videogame Adaptation of the Movie Franchise so far and really gives the vibes that can be felt when watching the first Movie the first Time)

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition

A classic Real-Time-Strategy Game with a lot of flair of Greek, Nordic and ancient Egypt Mythology is one of those Games that can be enjoyed for many Hours while following different Stories of Heroes through a World of magical Creatures and powerful Beings.
And for those that already finished the Campaign, this Game also offers various Game-Modes for Multiplayer with or against other Players and Bots.

From the Top-Down perspective managed Settlements can be built and Units rose to fight, gather and improve various aspects of one of the unique Factions a Player can choose to lead.
Each Faction has its own Style in obtaining Materials and using those to accomplish the Goal of Victory in an also high variety of Maps.
And on Top of that, it gives the opportunity to Spawn some of the typical for Mythology known Creatures to be sent into Battle.
Like a Hydra, a giant scarab, Ice-Giants and more.

The Game’s strength is definitely the Campaign, where it leads the Players to stories based around Heroes who try to safe the world from some very dangerous and powerful Beings.
Also the unique Factions and Buildings and Creatures it has is one of the highlights of the Age of Mythology Universe.
And who doesn’t want to see a heroic Character fight against giant Monsters or the reverse; sending their own Monsters to defeat some pesky Heroes. :P

The Game’s Weakpoint tho is in the Bots. While they sometimes handle a lot of Maps pretty well, there is sometimes the Problem that it is no longer able to find the correct Paths to lead their Units around and so waits for the Player to finally defeat them instead of continuing to be an actual enemy.

I recommend this Game to Players who like classic RTS Games and also those who enjoy Campaigns in a ancient Greek-Egypt-Nordic-Mythology Setting.
---------------------------------
Points i give this Game (average Points 7,95 / 10):
6,4 / 10 Graphic (Old graphic, but still works and for the time the original launched was very good)
8,5 / 10 Gameplay (Easy to learn the Management of Buildings and Units, Variation in Factions)
9 / 10 Campaign (Well made Campaign with interesting Characters and Stories)
8 / 10 Multiplayer (Lots of Game-Modes and Maps to choose from)
8 / 10 Soundtrack (Soundtracks that fit the Time of just chilling and building)
7,8 / 10 Buildings, Units, Tech (Different Factions with unique Units and mythological Creatures)
