Amazing guide made by Syonyx back in 2007. I've used it to complete the game 100% and asked his permission to post it here, it was granted. This guide not only give the location for every figment, but lets you know which ones you missed by listing it's pos

I found this game mostly serviceable, if not a little boring, if not a little monotonous, if not a little clunky. That all changed when I reached "The Antipope" boss battle as the warrior. The deck I spent so much time crafting was taken away from me and I had to collect each card one by one. That's annoying but let's see what the developers had in mind. Huh... They're not in the right order when I pick them up, okay weird but I know their arrangement pretty well. Wait... They're not even the right version of the card when I pick them up? That's like an extra 15 minutes now that I need to just get my cards back in the right order with the correct version of them active while literally hundreds of enemies attack me. Using the card menu just slows the game down, it doesn't pause so I got killed. I force-quit the game, uninstalled it, and am now leaving this review.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, and not the only issue I have with Book of Demons. Moving around the dungeons and targeting enemies is clunky and unreliable. I want to hit this enemy to my left, not sidle directly up to it. Sometimes I would target an enemy, be too far away from it (even though the cursor changed to a sword), and my character just stands there. Maybe clicking an out of range enemy along the path should move your character nearer to it so that you can register an actual attack? WASD is an option, but you move diagonally, so if you can adjust to that you might not have this problem. You have to eventually use a mouse though when your cards are knocked off-kilter after a hard hit by clicking them, or if you get stunned you have to move your cursor over floating stars before you can do anything. Some enemies can knock you cursor away from where you have it placed. It's all just a bridge too far for me personally. After my first hour or so I was more annoyed by the end of a dungeon than excited to play more.

The game has "Very Positive" reviews on Steam at the time of this writing, and the large cache of unlockable Steam achievements did keep me coming back, but having every negative point and strange game-design choice happen all at the same time during the same encounter was enough for me to finally write it off and move on the greener pastures. If you like this game, you are not wrong to like it. If the developers read this and take issue with anything I've typed here, they're not wrong to stick to their guns. I did not enjoy my time with it, and I don't recommend it.
