Binding of Isaac is a Rougue Like, randomly generator, baby in a basement, twin stick shooter in a sense? I'm not yet an expert of game criteria or critique, but it's like zelda if it was less mature and more messed up. But ultimately better in my opinion.

I fell in love with the first binding of isaac because of it's difficulty and it's possibility, and that's why I love it's sequel as well, Rebirth. The game does what the first game set out to do better, and more fully. They have plenty of new items, room layouts, bosses, secrets, etc. etc.

Talking about secrets, I have to quickly mentioned this games developers put in a full fledged puzzle inside their game designed to help the community work together in order to figure it out. I won't spoiler anything, even though everyone knows about the secret by now, but I must give credit to this masterful way in which these developers designed this puzzle. In the game you have plenty of runs in which you die over, and over again. Yet the developers put in items, which when held upon death would unlock a little puzzle piece subtly in the death screen. Over a course a time, dedication, and communication between the community, hundreds of runs from thousands of players would have eventually led to the completetion of the puzzle which would've been a monumentous occasion not only to the delight of the community, but the developers as well I'm sure. Yet due to datamining and just down right scumminess the secret was revealed just as the community was learning how to solve the puzzle. It truly is sad and I agree with what one of the developers said on the matter. "These data miners ruined something. It's like taking a gourmet steak and eating it whole in one bite." I just want to apologize to the developers more than anything, cause I for one would've loved to have participated in this little treasure hunt. Love you guys and thanks for making such a cool idea, and sorry it was crushed.

Anyway back to the actualy game now that I'm done with my rant. It plays very similarlily to the first game since I was able to jump into my first run and win the whole thing as if I was a veteran of the game since technically I was with the first game.

If you are a long time fan of the original Binding Of Isaac or just like twin stick shooter, strange, rouge like games then this is right up your alley. Honestly if you are this late to the party you should already know this by now. I'm just writing this review out of respect and love for the game. I can't just pour 500 hours of my life into a franchise and not give back to it like that. Edmund McMuffin, you dun good.
