Diary Entry – December 9, 2024
Just turned 17 two days ago

I have officially reached the age of 17. It’s a bit surreal, honestly. I feel as though I should be able to fully embrace this new chapter of life and pull off the persona of a "grown-up," but I find myself in a strange in-between phase. Birthdays are typically milestones, but mine didn’t feel all that significant. It was a quiet family gathering—cake, awkward singing, and my aunt forgot about my birthday. Her family came the day after.

With that said, today started off in the usual manner. I woke up around 8:30 AM—a shame, really, since there was no school, but I couldn’t go back to sleep. Instead, I spent some time scrolling through reels and replying to snaps. I thought I’d go get some breakfast downstairs, but I got distracted as I admired myself in the large new mirror I received for my birthday. It’s a really big mirror, and I started thinking that I should probably get into modeling sometime soon—or maybe even start a cult, worshiping me, of course. It’s a shame so many people around the world don’t get to see me, let alone know me.

Well, anyway, there was nothing particularly exciting about this morning—just the usual distractions.

I decided to take a walk because, frankly, I needed to stretch my legs. After spending the morning lying around, they felt as if they were physically attached to my bed. The weather outside was relatively nice—cloudy, but not cold, and the air had that crisp, fresh feel. It seemed like a good day for a walk. I was almost certain I’d left the meds on the nightstand, but... it probably didn’t matter. Not today.

However, as soon as I stepped outside, something unusual occurred.

An elderly man was sitting on the curb near the park, simply staring ahead without moving. Normally, I would have thought nothing of it, but there was something peculiar about the way he was staring—he seemed to be looking at something—or perhaps someone—that wasn’t there. I briefly considered approaching him to make sure he was okay, but then I remembered my mother’s advice: "Don’t talk to strange old people." But then I thought, Momma didn’t raise no ♥♥♥♥♥, so I sat down beside him. I tried talking to him, but he didn’t respond to anything, so naturally, I punched him in the face. He finally snapped out of whatever reverie he was in and ran away.

As I watched him scramble to get away, I fought the urge to cry out in pain. The man’s head was like a steel plate. However, as previously stated, “Momma didn’t raise no ♥♥♥♥♥,” so I kept my poker face on. The whole situation felt strangely cinematic, as if I had wandered into the middle of a scene in a movie—with me as the main character, obviously.

I tried to push the feeling aside as I walked through the park. The swings were moving, yet there was no one around. It wasn’t just the movement of the swings—it was the eerie stillness of everything else. The park felt as though it was holding its breath, as if something was about to happen. It was one of those moments you see in horror movies when everything appears perfect, but there’s an undercurrent of tension. I looked around for a moment, half-expecting someone else to be there to share in the oddness. But there was no one. Just me, the empty swings, and a few birds that seemed entirely uninterested in the strange atmosphere.

I’ll admit, I did wonder if perhaps I was just being overly sensitive, especially considering how quiet the world felt in that moment. Maybe I just needed to… clear my head.

However, as I was walking back, trying to ignore the little nagging feeling in the back of my mind that something was just a little too quiet, I heard it—the coolest thing ever.

A dog... playing the sax.

There was a dog—a Golden Retriever, very good boy, I might add—playing a saxophone. I’m not talking about the dog just holding it or chewing on it like most dogs would. I mean, the dog was literally blowing into it. The sound was… weirdly good? I don’t know if it was some freak accident or a dog band practice that I wasn’t invited to, but I stood there, watching this golden dog with a mouthpiece in its paws, totally crushing a jazz solo.

Naturally, I started cheering, jumping around, clapping. I even considered running back home to get my guitar so we could play together. Sadly, the dog had finished his performance. I went to him—or her, I have no idea—to talk, asking where the dog learned to play like that and stuff, but as I tried to dap the dog up, it just disappeared. Very rude, but I suppose you can do whatever you want when you play like that.

As I continued my walk, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I wasn’t entirely alone. It felt as if someone were walking behind me, but whenever I turned around, I was greeted with nothingness. It wasn’t the kind of feeling you can easily ignore. It was almost as though the air itself was charged with something. Maybe I was just tired.

Determined to shake off the weirdness, I headed back toward my neighborhood, hoping to find some semblance of normalcy. That’s when I saw it.

My neighbor’s mailbox was… moving.

Now, I’m not talking about a slight sway from the wind. No, the mailbox was actively shifting, almost wiggling. It looked as if something was trying to push its way out from inside. I could have sworn I saw the flag twitch, as though it had a life of its own. I froze, unsure whether I should investigate further, but common sense prevailed. I wasn’t about to approach it. I quickly walked past, keeping my distance, hoping I was just imagining things.

Once I arrived back at my house, I thought I could finally relax. After all, I’d survived a bizarre walk and had even witnessed an extraordinary event. But the strangeness didn’t end there.

As soon as I stepped inside, I began to hear a faint clicking sound—like someone tapping their fingernails against a surface. It wasn’t loud, just persistent. Tap… tap… tap. I went into the kitchen to investigate, but there was nothing unusual. The kitchen was exactly as I’d left it, with the usual mess from breakfast. Still, the sound didn’t stop. It seemed to be coming from the walls now, or perhaps the floor, and it was almost as though it were following me.

The sound grew fainter, but it seemed to tease me, as if it was trying to get my attention. I decided, perhaps foolishly, to ignore it and carry on as if everything were normal. Pretending I was a mature, well-adjusted person who could handle strange sounds in their own home.

But just as I was about to grab a snack, the doorbell rang. At this point, I was seriously questioning my sanity. I opened the door, expecting someone to be there, but there was no one—only a small note on the doorstep. For a moment, I almost walked away, but curiosity won out. I picked up the note and read it. The handwriting was neat, almost too perfect, and it simply said:

“They’re inside, waiting. You should probably hurry.”

I didn’t know what to make of it. Was it a prank? Was someone playing a joke on me? The note felt eerily specific, and my stomach sank. I looked around, but there was no one to be seen. Just an empty street.

I’m not sure what’s going on anymore. I can’t tell if I’m imagining things or if something truly strange is happening. The clicking sound has stopped, but now there’s this unsettling feeling that something is behind me, watching.

I’m probably overreacting. Maybe I just need some sleep—or, you know, I’m sure I’ll feel better once I remember where I put my meds. If anything else unusual happens, I’ll be sure to write it down. At this point, I’m not sure how else to deal with it.

It has been a strange day. A very strange day.

This player is fantastic, just needs to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, economy management, teamplay, awp flicks, smoke spots, pop flashes, positioning, bomb plant positions, retake ability, bunny hopping, spray control and his overall fragging ability.
