Remember when modders said "Hey look, we made this huge single-player open world game with literally zero networking capabilities, and made it into an MMO!" And the devs said "Cool! We're never implementing this officially, but thanks for the free labour!"

Yeah, this mod alone is better than JC3 and JC4 put together. Avalanche is probably kicking themselves for letting this slip by them, in the modern age of MMO Battle Royale shooters.

Give owners of the Ultimate Box a free upgrade to the Remastered version, EA. It's BS to not develop a new Burnout game for a decade, then "remaster" the last game while simultaneously making it run WORSE.

It was bad enough that you released the PC version back in the day with stunted DLC (Literally, the entire Big Surf Island was just... missing), but now to NOT give legacy PC users access to your "new" version? Screw you. This is the better version on virtue alone. At least it never crashed.

If you became a fan of Bethesda from this game, that's understandable- but don't give them clout they don't deserve. Obsidian deserves all the credit for the masterful storytelling on display, along with the wrangling of the beast that is Gamebryo. New Vegas can run on toasters and rubber bands, while still maintaining the addictive gameplay this style of RPG can bring- and, it's free to mod to your heart's content. Bethesda's trying to forget this game exists, but don't let that happen. The best game in Bethesda's catalog is one they didn't make themselves.

Let me preface with this: Carrion's a fun experience. It's a little like Metroid except you're playing AS the Metroid. Controls are very fluid and versatile- though I'd definitely recommend using Mouse and Keyboard, as you'll gain that much more control over your limbs.

The game, unfortunately, is extremely short- if you don't bother with the extras, you'll probably beat it in less than 4 hours.

Now, this might not matter to you; those 4 hours are still really fun, and the game goes for this pixel aesthetic that's really nice to look at.

However, the biggest issue of the game isn't it's length: it's the price. As of this review, this game is 20 dollars on Steam- when it comes to indies, Carrion leans on the more expensive side. For this, I can whole-heartedly recommend NOT getting this game on Steam, for this simple reaseon:

For 20 dollars, you could buy half a year's worth of Xbox Game Pass, which comes with this game AND hundreds of others. No, this is not a shill- it's just the best value for your dollar. Though, to be fair, you wouldn't be able to use the Game Pass on Windows 7... if you're in that boat, wait for a sale.

An important thing to consider when buying this game:

It is not a Military Sim.

It is not a Gun Sim.

It is a VR shooter through and through, and that's what it strives to be.

Everything on display could be described as the most "basic" elements of a VR shooter, but it's expanded upon by copious amounts of mods.

Do you want a VR game that comes the closest to GMOD? Try this.

No Man's Sky is the ultimate comeback story in recent gaming history. Comparing the state of the game at launch to how it is now- and where it's going- shows just how much the developers truly care to bring their vision to full fruition. Any other developer would have chocked up initial disappointment or scorn as a fault of consumers having too high expectations- but Hello Games took these criticisms and said, "We will fulfill all our promises, and more."

Now, No Man's Sky stands above it's controversial beginnings, and as I see it, is aiming to be the best game it could possibly be. Very excited to see where the game goes, and how much more enjoyment Hello Games can pack into it for newcomers and early players alike.

It's ironic how much this game is compared to The Stanley Parable, considering how little they actually have in common.

Open-ended story? Nope, this game is linear from beginning to end. The "Naughty or Nice" mechanic only applies to trophies you can unlock in-game, otherwise you can't change much of the narrative (what little there is of it). Don't go in thinking you can unlock different endings.

Funny Narrator? Sometimes, but wears off really fast. The narrator has only one tone, and that's "annoying and whiny". Don't think you can soften the narrator up by playing a bunch of the minigames "correctly" in a row, this guy hates your guts (this is rather forced, as the game REQUIRES you to play the games "wrong" in order to even start the game, the first time you launch).

Clever Gameplay? Well, The Stanley Parable doesn't actually HAVE gameplay, so "Dude, Stop" is ahead in that regard. However, the minigames leave a lot to be desired, and some are rather obtuse in how you solve them (looking at you, sweater string minigame.) You'll find yourself genuinely failing certain games your first time through, but it will always be treated as you playing the game "wrong", and never as playing the game "bad". So, gameplay? Yeah, it's there, but it isn't very clever.

Really, the only thing similar between these two games are the prices, at $15 dollars. For either game, that's asking a lot, and you're better off waiting for a sale. Luckily, The Stanley Parable goes on sale quite frequently, and for very cheap...
