Summary:
The game improved a lot. Stuff like all chat, scoreboard and squad choice are now in. If this would be (incl. all DLCs) 30 USD or less and you did not care about game politics, I would recommend for casual players. As it is now, I can not recommend.

Computer specifications:
Intel i9-12900k (e-Cores disabled), 32GB RAM, RTX 3090, PCI-E 4.0 SSD, Windows 11 at 4K 120Hz with G-Sync.
My gaming references sofar:
All Battlefields since BF3. BFH & BFV around 100h each, the rest around 1000h each - I also played the ALPHA & BETA of BF2042. Other shooters include Arma 3, Squad, COD MW2/3, CS:GO and some others.
I usually ended up around 2-4 KD using either a sniper loadout or a medic loadout.

Graphics & Audio: 7/10
-1 for not using cutting edge technology and for having a slightly stuttery feeling to it (Vsync off, Future Frame off, NVIDIA Reflex to max). Performance is now actually good!
-2 for the audio: Used the 3D Headphone mix, and it is bad to say the least. I have audiophile gear.

Game stability: 10/10
Seen no bugs or anything. Install size is also okay, not excessive unlike COD.

Netcode: 2/10
EU servers 8ms ping, direct optic fiber.
64 players is playable, 128 players is imo not. I get weird headshots, not getting hits/hitmarkers and get killed around corners. This is the rule and not the exception. With the game being really fast paced, this is really bad, also for such an expensive game with a huge company behind it. See BattleBit Remastered - their 64 vs 64 netcode is much much better (imagine that).
Edit: Tested more and yes netcode is very broken. I get headshots and kills for clear misses.

Crossplay: 5/10
While it can make sense for vehicle specialists (flying particularly), it generally is more an annoyance since you can not rely on your teammates. Console players are generally a lot worse in terms of aim due to controller. I recommend to turn it off.

Feel & Gameplay: 3/10
The classes are a joke, the gadgets are OP (why does a sniper have explosives and is capable of destroying any vehicle solo?), including virtue signaling (forced ethnic diversity and females in a war game) (but we know that already from BFV, forced political narrative contradicting actual history - historical revisionism).
This is no longer Battlefield. Since Battlefield 3, EA has shifted more and more towards COD fast paced game play. But even in Battlefield 3 it was not that bad. This is practically a COD clone with large maps.

Balance: No score
Can't judge, played not enough.

Cheater situation: 5/10
Noticed in 10h already 5 guaranteed cheaters and over 2 dozens suspicious players. Just to give you an example: In a game that nobody went over 50 kills, someone got 179 kills (only saw that because he got a card at the end, you can not check otherwise ...). Go figure how legit that guy is.
There are many animation issues. In example it always reloads the weapon upon spawn, and you notice from time to time issues on the own character animations (another example is that the grenade is taking extra long to be taken into your hands sometimes). Such obvious issues should haven been fixed before launch. Even in October 2023: I joined 3 rounds, and 1 of them had 123-3, while nobody else went over 40 kills. He was also very high level, which means his cheat has been undetected for a very long time.
Overall, it is not cheater infested, but it definitely has cheaters, and for such an expensive game by such a large company, I expect better!


End notes:
I can not recommend and given the state of the game and the successor that is coming in the forceseeable future, I don't think it is gonna change. This is not Battlefield, this is COD made large. It is too expensive for what it is. And EA deserves no money, particularly when they force political messaging into their games and use psychological tricks to milk customers money dry.
If you are looking for a good active Battlefield game, go for Battlefield 1 (WW1 setting). Alternatively consider Squad.
